• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

New neighbor screwing up my connection

Sorry for resurrecting a 5-day old thread, but I wanted to update it. At first we were having intermittent problems, but since last thursday, we don't have ANY internet service (I'm at the office now). So I urged the landlord to call the cable company and sure enough, they have a hardware...

New neighbor screwing up my connection

Lol. Entertaining this thread today. 1- I setup the router for WEP (because the landlord's wife's laptop doesn't support WPA). 2- Everything is in the landlord's name, not mine. 3- I am in canada, so RIAA and MPAA can lcik my taint. 4- They wouldn't find any on my computer, nor on any...

New neighbor screwing up my connection

Thanks for the advice. It's a lot of work (and expense since I just donated my old comp to my sister) to install a proxy. I'll start by finding port ranges for most torrent clients and IM clients and QoS them to low priority and up my game's ports to high priority. It won't fix my slow ass...

New neighbor screwing up my connection

I setup a Linksys WRT300N to share the internet connection between me, the landlord downstairs and the next door neighbor. The old neighbor didn't use the web that much and we never had any problems. Now the new neighbor has a teenager who most certainly is running a fileserver or...

    WoW and SLI.......NOT

I can contribute nothing to the SLI portion of this thread. However, I am running a single 7800GTX and all the settings at max and have had no problems with WoW. Don't know about FPS yet ... doing that this weekend. I am running it in an Asus A8E with an Athlon X2 4400+ with 2GB ram

Do I plug in the PCIe cable in the card?

I'm building myself a new comp and it has an NV7800GTX. Last week I built a comp for someone else with a 6800GT and there was no power connector on the card to plug one of the PCIe power connectors from PSU into it. However, my 7800GTX does have such a receptacle. Do I plug one of the 2...

Suckered by the Antec Aria Once More

It isn't like the core of your CPU is exposed. If this were an older athlon core (like the Thunderbird or a Duron core) then I would NEVER give this advice, but since the 64 has a metal cover over the core, why not twist it a little and lift one side off before the other until you break the...

OS DPI Settings affecting site layout. How to bypass?

OS DPI Settings affecting site layout. How to bypass?

In WinXP if you go to the desktop, right click, go to the settings tab then click the advanced button, there is a General tab which has DPI settings (Font Size for W2K). They both have the same impact. I designed my web page to fit a 1024X768 screen. All is good ... except for 2 users. I...

    Login scripts bad

Thanks for the replys. I'm O.K. with the admins, but they wrote all the scripts as group policies, so changing mine would mean writing on specifically for me. I'm pretty much SOL since the admins are pretty rigid ... specially when they actually have to do some work. I'm not knocking admins...

    Login scripts bad

The company where I work has introduced a damn login script that opens my browser to an intranet page and they change my default homepage to the same page whenever I log onto my computer. Is there any way to block this? Aside from never shutting down my computer, I'd like to NOT open the damn...

    Multiplayer turn-based games?

I play a game that is 1 turn every 24 hours except weekends usually (though the parameters vary widely) It's an old game though and not for everyone. It's called Diplomacy. I play at Dipbounced.com with friends in private games. It is 95% strategy and 5% luck depending on your opponent's...

Where can I find Analog web clocks?

I am looking for multiple analog clocks that can be displayed on a web page to show the times in different parts of the world. Maybe my search keywords were wrong, but I was unable to find anything probative with google. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Windows XP Won't Detect my SATA Hard DRive

Yeah, sorry I can't be more specific, I gave the computer to its owner this past week-end including all the discs. But open that Via 64 directory ... it's in there somewhere for sure. Read the setup.oem files that are on the CD. They'll tell you what's included in each set of drivers. Find...

A8V Deluxe Rev 2 opinions please

Well I don't know how that's possible. Mine had the 1008 BIOS when I got it and it wouldn't recognise anything except 1 stick of RAM in slot B1. I had to upgrade to the 1009 BIOS so it would recognise RAM in 2 slots. (Didn't try in more than 2, only had 2 sticks)
