    External Hdd Install

    I believe in order to accomplish what you want, your external drive must be formatted in HFS+journaled. You cannot boot OS X off a FAT32 (or NTFS for that matter) formatted drive.

    In Windows XP/2000 you can use the search function to search the actual ID3 tag of any mp3. All you have to do is search the hidden folders on the iPod with the band's name or whatever you are looking for. They all show up ... it's as easy as dragging and dropping.

    Pentium-M (Centrino) or P4 for laptop?
