Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Touching on a comment made earlier on about SM 3.0 being added to Far Cry in the 1.2 patch: don't you need DirectX 9.0c to be able to run anything with SM 3.0? Unless you are using RC2 of the SP2 betas (which I am running), you don't even have DirectX 9.0c. So the situation with the patch is...
Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing in the shopping cart. I haven't actually gone through with the purchase though, so I don't know if it all works out nicely.
Foobar2K rocks! I have heard of this program before, but I always thought it was just an encoding app. It is quick, responsive, and does everything I need it to. With the features it has, I no longer need to sort all of my mp3s into directories, as it lets me easily burn albums and stuff. Thanks...
Features it needs to have:
-freeware
-be able to make a directory tree out of id3 tags
The big reason I need a program like this is that I recently fubared my computer with FC2 and I have all my mp3s backed up on my rio karma. so when I reinstalled Windows and restored my mp3 collection...
Why wouldn't each core put out 80W? 80 + 80 = 160W, right (assuming each core is at full load so that the cool 'n quiet thing doesn't come into play)? Or is the design of a dual-core not simply two normal single cores packaged into one chip?
I think that there won't be HT in Intel's planned dual-core Dothan for desktops. But, if they make a dual-core out of Prescotts, then you will see HT. I doubt, though, that we will ever see dual-core Prescotts because of the insane amount of heat that they would produce. Correct me if I'm wrong...
Don't give nVidia excuses to suck. If they release hardware without drivers, that's no reason to consider buying into an architecture that may be "better than the X800 when games using its features come out in a year and a half, if and when its perfect drivers are released."
And no, I have...
To me, it already looks like the Geforce has shitty IQ. But that's just me...
How can you say that ATI has poor IQ when the Geforce 6800 looks like that?
I would recommend that you turn off fast writes. When I turned them off on my computer, the stability of my videocard (a radeon 9800 pro) went up and I could overclock 15 more mHz. I can't tell you technically what fastwrites do, but i do know that your video card will be more stable if you turn...
I love Circuit City. They exchanged my fried card, no questions asked! And the card I got is even better than the one I had. My old one overclocked (using ATITool) to 407/360 using stock cooling (before the VGA Silencer incident) and the new one overclocks to 430/380, also using stock cooling. I...
Well, I just put in my VGA Silencer yesterday and I found that the installation was pretty easy. Other than that though, it sucks. In 2d mode, there aren't any artifacts, but in 3d mode, the screen shimmers with artifacts. Excellent. So, I opened my case to see if there was anything wrong and it...
Well, I ordered a VGA Silencer Rev. 3 and some ramsinks from svc and they arrived this morning. I quickly opened my PC and took out my Radeon 9800 Pro (BBA) and took the stock heatsink off (on a sidenote, the chip is labeled as a R360). I then put on all of the ramsinks and then put on the VGA...
