    2001FP resolution 1280x960?

Oops, are you saying you have the monitor but cant use that resolution? If so, I dont know what to say...I use XP, and all "official" resolutions are available in the display properties.

    2001FP resolution 1280x960?

Yes, and its quite nice. Due to a bug that's likely caused by an old video card, I have to use 1280x960 on my VP201 (same panel as 2001FP). With the larger DPI and Cleartype, some of the text is a flawed. However I assure you its good, in both windows and games.

Should i get a TFT or a CRT for Gaming?

Owning a VP201 (same panel as the 2001FP), I can say that there is zero ghosting in games. Very slightly when fast-scrolling some web pages, which really doesnt matter. Its still far better on the eyes than a CRT. I can stare at the screen for many hours, and when I get up my eyes dont hurt a...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

The panel itself is supposed to be the very same (VP201, 2001FP, and a few others use it). If the 2001FP is a lot cheaper...sounds good. I wonder how cheap, though? While I'm rather pleased with my monitor, its not perfect. And it cost me far, far too much (1150$ canadian, about 925 USD?)...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

Thanks Inside_line :) PlaidJello: I hope you'll be pleased with your decision! Let us know what you think about it. HARDcoregamER: Sorry :D. I havent seen the VP912, so I cant say. They use different panels, so there should be a difference...but which is best, I have not a clue. Unless...

    Resolution + color depth problem

By frequency, do you mean refresh rate? If so, it's "stuck" at 60hz; there's no other option. I'm told DVI is 60hz only, for any resolution.

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

Oh well, I'll say something in the meantime. VP201 of course: First, the stand indeed rocks. And the bezel is very thin, as they say. Esthetically, it looks good. Right now I'm having that "1600x1200 32-bit in DVI trouble", so I'm using 1280x960 32-bit. Despite not being the native res, it...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

The VP201. I'm still trying to figure out why I cant use 32-bit in 1600x1200 (DVI). I finally tested VGA and it works fine - but very blurry. Really need to find a way to do it in DVI.

    Resolution + color depth problem

Well, it works in VGA. Seems very blurry though. Aaaah, I hope someone has an idea...

    Resolution + color depth problem

I just bought a Viewsonic VP201s. I'll go straight to the problem :) I connected using the DVI cable, and I cant use 32-bit color depth in 1600x1200. Only 16-bit or lower. Other resolutions can be set to 32-bit. My videocard is not the problem, it supports it. Strangely, windows lists...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

Well, its done. I got it :) I wish I could review it now, but I need to ask a question first (new thread) and play some games. From what I've seen though (in 1024x768 in Doom 3 and Thief 3) there is zero ghosting. Of course, my framerate is far from perfect; the result may be different if you...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

Well for one thing, buying the Dell 2001FP would have meant ordering online, and I dont do that...certainly not for a LCD monitor of all things. They say the VP201 has the best stand to date. That's a plus. The whole thing also looks much better than the 2001FP (design). Viewsonic has the...

    Viewsonic vs Viewsonic

IMO 1280x1024 has no purpose. Its not a resolution for gaming, and any resolution works for windows. 1600x1200 is quite a plus. By the way, I'm getting my VP201s tomorow...I'll try to remember this thread and say how the ghosting is. I dont think that will be the problem, though. Have you...
