can my current PSU run an X58/i7 setup?

Ok, thanks for the replies. I think I may as well just get the 750W one and make sure it lasts at least a couple more upgrade cycles. Thanks.

can my current PSU run an X58/i7 setup?

Hi -- I haven't really kept up w/ the latest and greatest in hardware for a while (since 2007 pretty much), but I'm thinking about making the following changes to my setup: E6300 @ Stock speeds (was stable at 2.8ish for a while) --> i7-920 Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.0) --> MSI X58M...

    Editorial - Windows Vista Ramblings @ [H]

In case you haven't noticed, there is pretty much nothing in this world that is black and white. The United States is not a democracy, it does not run a free-market economy. Americans are "free", so long as they don't do anything that the government or their fellow citizens or other...

    Editorial - Windows Vista Ramblings @ [H]

I must say my respect for [H] went way down after reading that little snippet on Apple. Kyle - No shit OS X's shortcomings would be more apparent if OS X powered a million different hardware configurations. I feel like thanking Captain Obvious after reading that. Apple's entire business...

Yeah that ended up being a major, major disappointment. I guess I'll just hope the new standalone iPods are basically just as cool just no phone built-in for a lot less money.

It's $499 for 4 Gb, 2 years service and $599 for 8 Gb, 2 years of service. He was saying it will probably be $800 for the 8 gb and only one year of service, which probably isn't far off.

Yeah why not just announce a standalone version of the iPod at the same time? I guess thats not coming out until June either?

Why is that bad? Because it basically excludes half (at least) of their possible US customer base. Cingular's service blows where I am, so right now I have about 14 months left on a contract with Verizon. I'm not spending an extra couple hundred dollars come June to get out of that contract...

    Macworld 2007 discussion thread

They must be getting ready to announce a stand-alone new iPod...that $599 is with a 2-year contract too. It seems stupid to make Cingular the exclusive provider...I'll assume Verizon just didn't want something so "open" (as in non-restricted) on their network...because to make two versions of...

WTF not shipping until June? It's normally Apple's style to announce it and at the ned say "you can buy it right now". June...damn...and Cingular exclusive partner.

For most people I guess you are right. Don't want to have it getting dropped constantly... I hope they announce a version without a phone (for the other half of the nation that are Verizon customers) with a hard drive but still with OS X and Wi Fi.
