Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ok, so a little update about my monitor problems. I ended up purchasing a miniDSP -> VGA converter from monoprice as well as a DVI-D cable, for the hell of it. Using the DVI-D cable, there is still no video from the card at POST. However, the converter allowed me to run my two monitors over VGA...
My FPD2185W is still running strong. I used to have a power problem that would require me to un/replug the power cord, but this has not cropped up recently.
I recently acquired an AMD 6950 and am having trouble getting more than 640x480 over DVI (using a DVI-D Single link cable) in Windows 7...
Sorry. I understand that DVI-D Dual link basically provides more bandwidth, but I didn't think native resolutions would really be necessary info. Never hurts too give more than needed though.
Gateway = 1680x1050

Good to know about the DP to DVI pickiness.
Thank you both for the replies. I suppose I will weigh the options of Powertune v Physx for a while. I also like to undertake fun projects, but I may wait around to see if this solution gets easier to implement and just enjoy some beautifully rendered 3D gaming for now, especially if I can get a...
I recently upgraded my 8800GT 512 to an MSI 6950. I am very happy with the performance of the new card, and I am getting along nicely with AMD after using Nvidia for many years. I will not try unlocking the extra shaders until I get a few things fixed. I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
My first...
Well, I ended up following the directions of the Intel faq. I rebooted and accessed the Intel Matrix status ROM (using ctrl+i) and deleted the RAID array from there.
Upon booting back into Window 7, I found that my drives were all intact with their data. Opening Computer Manager, I found...
It seems that the Intel MatrixRAID no longer ties a drive to a RAID group using the physical port, instead its s/n or UUID, I guess. I unplugged a non-RAID drive from port 4 and then plugged in one of the RAID drives (which used to be on port 3).
The MatrixRAID boot utility showed the RAID...
Thanks, sabregen. I'll take your advice and keep the raid up, yet degraded while transferring the data to the other raid disk that has been reformatted.
However, I guess I should have mentioned that this array is a storage/backup array and does not contain anything that needs to be bootable...
I have a single 1TB RAID 1 array running at the moment that I am thinking about breaking for various reasons: extra space, and most annoyingly, dmraid on linux can't activate the array since the windows partitioner rounds up on space allocation. I think it goes without saying that in this...
The bios on my laptop are about as bare as a bios can be unfortunately.
This problem isn't specific to GTA. It happens with all games (Freedom Force, NWN2, etc.). I know that disabling v-sync worked before because I had to disable it to get NWN2 running well (and NWN2 won't run now for some...
I tried turning off and on triple buffering and while v-sync was off, and the game still slowed to 10 fps after a minute or so. I also tried using dxtweaker with v-sync on which didn't help either. I tried a new driver version as well, but the problem persisted. Any other ideas?
My laptop is a HP DV6000
AMD X2 Mobile TL-56
Nvidia Geforce Go 7200
2 gigs of ram
Running XP SP2
Only unless my understanding of tearing is completely flawed, I'm pretty sure its an actual drop in FPS that I'm experiencing. Using FRAPs, GTA in specific runs at an almost constant 30fps...
I have a geforce go 7200 in my HP DV6000. I have a strange problem where games only run smooth with v-sync enabled from the nvidia control panel.
If I have v-sync enabled, and start a game (such as GTA: San Andreas) everything is in working order. If, however, I disable v-sync and play a...
