Hello Guys,
I built a new rig about 6 months (thanks all for the help then), the first day I was having issues with CPU fan not spinning up, the MB would beeeep at me (I have the Fan Fail Warning enabled) and and I would have to flick the fan a few times to get it running, once it was running...
I would also say get OrangeBox if you don't own HL2, etc. I'm 39, been playing FPS PC games since Wolf 3D. I got burned out on them. I still have not finished BioShock, and wish I had not bought Crysis. TF2 has restored my faith in FPS team games. Why, I can use one word... 'FUN'. TF2 is...
curious if this is the case? Do any of these fantasy RPGs have a limited focus on magic?
I have not played a fantasy RPG in a long long time. I was leaning towards trying Oblivion.
I played KOTOR I (and loved it) but based on many comments I read about KOTOR II I'm not sure I'll like it...
See my specs below. I have the following BIOS options set:
CPU Fan Fail Warning - Enabled
Smart Fan Control Method - Auto
Smart Fan Control Mode - Auto
I have the stock HSF that came with the Duo Core. When I first posted my system the CPU Fan would start-stop, start-stop. I spun it...
Sorry, been a bit under the weather (cold/flu + allergies) I have played Bioshock using the Onboard Realtek ALC889A audio. I tried it without EAX and with EAX. There definetely was better, fuller, and better 'positional' sound with EAX. The ALC889A supports EAX 1 & 2. I did some research...
Yea sorry about the OS, should have added that. XP for as long as possible, IMO not sure if there is ever going to be full migration to Vista, from what I've been reading it looks like MS is focusing on their next OS. I know that Vista adoption is very very slow, and does anyone remember...
I just built a new rig, see Sig (and thanks to those who previously gave recc's). I was going to get the Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer but it was out-of-stock when I bought everything else. I thought I would try the on-board audio which is ALC889A Realtek. I also have a Audigy 1 card in my old...
At this point I'm leaning towards going with the 8800GTS, any suggestions if I do? I'm partial to BFG due to the lifetime replacement warranty (which I took advantage of with my 5900XT), but worried about how loud it might be.
RWalker - yes we have very similar current rigs, in fact my...
Well being 'in-the-loop' at one point does help with knowing where to go to bone-up on current hardware trends!
THANKS for the PSU suggenstion, that was the one component I was unsure about and IMO the PSU is the most important component in your rig!
Upgrading to the 8800GTS, well you can...
Howdy, it's been awhile since I've built a rig. Over 5 years. Also I just have not had time to keep up with hardware past few years, work, family, life, etc. So I'm not 100% confident with my selections. This rig really is primarily for work, but I want a decent gaming rig so I can blow some...
I've got an old custom built PC my kids use, I swapped 2 60mm fans, one was part of the cooler for the CPU, but it was simply unscrew 4 screws, remove fan, put on new one. I clean out A LOT of dust bunnies. I turn it on and it works but there is a strange burning smell, I assume it's just...
I also must concur that Ravenholm was out of place, I think it was put in to show that HL2/Source could do dark and scary... kinda like some other game out there called... Doom3.
Glad I could help, and the lesson here boys and girls is to clean out your rig, I would say at least twice a year, but more may be needed if your PC is in a relatively dusty environment.
