    Routing and network segments

Figured out that I need to use natd, so the requests seem to be coming from the MBP. I have it all setup, the VNCServers can ping *any* address! Inside or outside my network even real world servers. They just can't use the web. EH?

    Routing and network segments

OK I think I may have made some progress. I setup OS X to do internet sharing, sharing the Airport connection on the Ethernet connection. I then set the VNCServers gateway to be the MBP. That way the VNCServers can ping every address in the main network, the only problem is that the computers on...

    Routing and network segments

I am running a number of computers through my MacBook Pro using VNC, I need them to somehow connect to the internet. My main network's addressing is 10.0.1.x The VNCServers addressing is 10.0.2.x The MBP connects to both networks, to the main one over Airport and to the other over...

    Optical Metro Network

I think I'm missing your point, with a GigE network in the datacentre it will more than handle an OC-12 ring even when saturated no? Anyway since the ring needs to able to run the entrie networks capacity I was thinking of using an OC-48 ring so it is scaleabe for adding more PoP's and for...

    Optical Metro Network

I thought that GigE ran at 1000Mbps? Plus it can be aggregated. Raise a good point about the overhead I had forgotten about that. What's it dependant on, does it depend on the protocols being used?
