Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My understanding is that Mythos does a much better job at creating working attack chains (without human involvement) than prior iterations.
A big part of the current effectiveness are the free compute resources being provided. Some of these exploits would have cost $10,000+ in tokens according...
I'm not sure it's a direct cause, but fun story... Microsoft provided the U.S. government a ton of "free" consulting and technical services to "improve" it's digital security. A large portion of this was migrating to MS services and cloud platforms. Eventually the discounts ended and the...
I was looking to pick one up too but prices have practically doubled since they gained youtube popularity. Buying an ITX mobo to use old parts I already had around ended up being cheaper \ faster.
Pendragon provided the correct method and yes you do need to convert the OS drive to GPT.
Mad_shot's method will work but is more of a "hack", you'll likely have trouble with future feature updates. You're also hoping Microsoft doesn't do something to bork the installs at a later date.
IMHO...
I use aodNotify Pro to get similar functionality on my Pixel. Only a couple of $$ in the app store.
It gives me a colored ring around the front camera. Customizable in color and behavior.
It was a bit finicky to get working right with my Pixel 9 but was well worth it.
Losing the 1080ti is a hard pill to swallow with current pricing. Users are stuck spending $300-400 just to get the same level of performance they already had, pretty sad.
There are dedicated BIOS \ Firmware hacking communities. I recommend looking there if you haven't already.
Something like https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/ would be a better fit than [H]ard forum.
As others have already mentioned, you're playing with e-waste. Not that there's anything wrong...
We've been deploying the cloud gateway max for smaller customers without any trouble. Importing an existing network controller config can be a bit finicky, primarily if you have multiple sites or need historical data.
I'll probably pickup a cloud gateway fiber for home at some point.
I picked it up last night and played for several hours. It's a solid time sink \ fidget spinner type of game.
I'm still in the first apartment and hope automation ramps up soon. The day's move a little too quickly if you're maximizing productivity. That's probably more on me though, I don't...
