    celeron-celeron D

exactly, but in theory 256kb on a prescot is equivilent to 128kb on a northwood. Its still 1/4 of the size of the Pentium 4(latency on NW processors is arround 1T and on prescots its about 4-5T), and with a 50% longer pipeline, and slower cache, its not going to have a vastly noticalbe...

    Which TI4600 to buy?

PNY and the Abit OETS were good ones, they came only in 128mb flavors.. though, considering the 6200's (value cards) perform close to the Geforce 4 TI's now, mabye you should look at those.

    $500 for a Geforce 5900 Ultra!?

dont have to, everone buys Geforce 6's now(even the 6200 performs on a FX5700 level). I guess they never got arround to adjusting for demand

Do P3's need to have matched stepping?

I thought all Pentium III with the exception of the 256kb tualatins worked in SMP

prescots incure a 4x latency hit on their cache compared to Northwoods, and I dont have to mention the vastly extended pipeline. Thus what I orginaly said, the extra cache on the Prescot Celerons has minnimal effect.

Do P3's need to have matched stepping?

www.2cpu.com they have alot of SMP mainboard reviews. My personal favorite is the Iwill DVD266-R But most of the good ones are no longer avaliable. Same Stepping processors are never required, but are reccomended in mission ciritical situations.

    FSB ?'s

a 3.0C on a 133mhz FSB supported board would run at a mear 2ghz :( Also, FSB is the most important tribute to Netburst Processors... and a slower FSB should be avoided.
