Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks guys.
I was asking because I have a GT 610 that runs with a passively with just a heat sink, and on my laptop I have a Quadro 2000m that only gets hot and the fan going when 3D graphics are run, otherwise runs just cool as a cucumber.
I also once installed a 7800GT with no cooler...
I'm building a new computer and have all the parts *except* for some tubing which I am missing for my watercooling loop. It should arrive in a few days.
The 780 I have is the EVGA Hydro Copper. It has a heat sink on it, but no fan.
I was wondering if it was alright to install it in the PC...
Does anyone know how to turn this on?
I have several of those monitors here and some of them don't give the same color using the same settings, I want to know if the panels are identical or if something has changed in between revisions or whatnot...
Help?
Right-click on your desktop, choose Properties.
Go to the "Settings" tab and select a resolution of 1680x1050. That should help a lot!
I also suggest you use the DVI cable instead of VGA.
If you had a VGA (D-Sub) monitor and you didn't reboot your computer, this resolution may not...
I am seriously interested in this display, however when I went to see it at the store the results were quite underwhelming.
At Future Shop, the test slide show had gradients but had horrible artifacts. I am not sure if this was because of a bad jpeg image or because of color banding typical...
These come from two Dell Precision Workstation 380 machines which are about 3 months old. Both configured with 2x 1G. These machines currently need to be upgraded to a 64-bit OS with 6-GB each, but for a variety of reasons I won't get into, we decided to use Non-ECC memory, which can't be mixed...
While I applaud Dell for the move, I think the whole article is a joke.
What, 3 pages to explain that you will have no more pre-installed programs except an anti virus, and some remote debugging (yes, this is nice) support? Woh. I just rewrote the whole article in 1 phrase.
Seriously, this...
This is from a post in another thread I wrote. Thought I'd paste here for posterity. It's worded differently here that what's in the FAQ. Perhaps it'll enlighten some that wonder WHY CAS2 vs CAS3 doesn't matter much.
(from a programmer's point of view).
Regardless of what L33T G4m0rZ...
Below is a good "real world" answer to your question. Hope it makes sense and will reduce the confusion.
Regardless of what L33T G4m0rZ may tell you, CAS latency doesn't "really" matter. It's a gimmick, except if you want the mostest bestest hax0rz numbers in a synthetic benchmark. Here's...
