I used to run a Thermaltake Volcano 7+ (copper) on my previous P4 2.53@2.9ghz,it allowed you to choose from 3 differant fan speeds and although cpu temps dropped vs. stock Intel cooler the differance wasnt what I hoped (4C cooler under load) I also didnt like that the fact it was so noisy..,on...
Hrm wierd my CPU never goes above 47C under max load using the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Pure Copper cooler + Arctic silver 5 ( P4 2.8C @ 3.3ghz ) When I had the stock intel cooler it would hit 60C under load @ 3.1ghz, Case temp averages 32-33C ,it's been 100-105F out here in CA.
I wonder how many people realise Aquamarks score is based on the average framerate, for example if it shows FPS:75.31 you're score will be 75,309 etc. so if you get a "1k boost" from another driver you're really only talking about a 1 FPS boost , Just an observation :D
cornelious0_0 ,Ive...
I just installed a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Pure Copper cooler yesterday and got a 13C drop in my max load temps, down from 60C using the retail Intel cooler to 47C with the Zalman. It is also a very quiet cooler.. Good stuff ;)
Oh and check out the size of this thing :D
Hmm Interesting , someone suggested I lower the ram clock on my 6800 but leave the core at 400 and test again, I tried 400/1.05 and sure enough my score increased to 66,891 ,I guess my 6800 didnt like the 1.13 clock? although I didnt see any artifacting etc. during the 400/1.13 run...
Thanks for the reply cornelious0_0, I installed the latest Sandra and I'm seeing 5,021MB/s on the memory bandwidth test, seems normal when compared to the PC3200 refrence result especially considering its not running at full 400mhz, Not sure whats going on here but any other ideas are...
Scored 64283 , didn't make it into the Top 10  ... I'm curious how much performance im losing having to run this PC3200 at 368mhz with a 5:4 FSB ratio? (230FSB) Would it be worth getting PC4000 so I could run 1:1 ratio?, my current ram is timed 2-3-2-6,I had my 6800GT @ 400/1.13 but...
Maybe the ram you're using is holding it back, Did you run doom 3 timedemo twice in a row? The first run is always lower because of the frequent pauses.. other than that not sure  ,Im running 61.77 drivers on my 6800GT and getting 11,490 3dmarks and 58 fps Doom 3 timedemo 1600x1200...
Disabling vsync will fix those drops to 30fps, this wouldn't be a problem if we could enable Triple Buffering in Doom 3 somehow ... I decided to play through it without vsync and just set my refresh higher to minimize tearing (1600x1200 @ 100hz) , the framerate remained 50-60fps the majority of...
I'm seeing a very slight drop in performance with 66.00 vs. 61.77 , I made certain all driver settings were identical between the two (wrote everything down) , my 6800GT was at stock speeds, vsync disabled,AA and AF disabled in display properties, each test ran twice ,highest score listed...

I recently installed this ati hdtv wonder and its pretty sweet , only problem for me is I cant get more than 4 DTV stations with the included antenna, it wont even pick up CBS but the manual mentions using a powered antenna for best results..so ill have to get one.. Im getting 92% signal...
