Loque Raw S1 - Top Hat vent/fan mod (3D print).

I had extra parts hanging around from my previous build (i5-2600K / RTX-3070 / mem) and decided having a backup PC was a smart idea. I didn't want a large case, so when I saw a Loque Raw S1 on Ebay for $99, I decided that would work. I had a Silverstone SX700 PSU and had to pick up a ASUS ROG...

PSU ATX cable - 140mm custom - GONE

I had a custom made cable since I had a very short run from my PSU to MOBO. The cable was about 20 mm too short. So, year you have to be close. It is 140mm from the cable top of connector end to end, ideally it will cover 120mm with bends/etc. My cost for the cable was $50 with shipping...

    Rumor: Prices leaked for 9900X, 9950X, 9900X3D ($599), and 9950X3D ($699)

I snagged the 9900X3D from Newegg as soon as it was available. Seems like a decent value for the price. Jumped ship from team blue - previous i5-2600K (Alder Lake). Now I get to send back the 9800X3D that was en route to me. This completes my 2025 build that started with my RTX_5070ti

Cerberus cases to be retired (Sliger)

Who is the idiot that thought an ASUS TUF RTX-5070 ti would fit in a Sliger Cerberus (mATX) - ME ! It is close, but you cannot get around the frame to insert the 329mm length GPU. Everything else is good. Note that the spec sheet on the case state 330mm, which is wrong. Sucks, because this...

Cerberus cases to be retired (Sliger)

I've been extremely content with my Sliger Cerberus mATX case for five years. It used significantly less space than my Fractal Define mini C and only had a few limitations as to what could be easily configured. Mine was the gunmetal gray, which hasn't been available in recent years. When I was...

Nvidia killing GameStream on SHIELD TV, says "use Steam Link instead k thanks bye"

Thx Nvidia - you just turned my Shield TV Pro into a brick as far as I am concerned. That is exclusively how I used the device these days since my LG TV is still better for streaming apps than the Shield. So, you either deal with GeForce Now in super slow free mode, or pay up at $9.99( or even...

    PSU Custom Cables

ETSY - Dream big by Ray (blue cables). Decreased the cable clutter in my uATX Cerberus measurably. My Silverstone PSU came with excessively long cables to power the RTX-3070 when I only needed about 7". I've since added a GPU support bracket to address the sag on the right.

    new motherboard decision

I have been very happy with my MSI MAG B660M Mortar mobo since I put together my Alder Lake system in January. Like the coolers on the M.2 SSD slots and beefy VRMs. It is my first MSI mobo after my previous two builds were ASRock and Asus.

    WTF - Z690/uATX ?

A couple months in and all is well. Happy with the i5-12600K ADL w/ the MSI B660M MAG Mortar mobo along w/ the EVGA RTX-3070 I managed to snap up at BB last year. Years ago with Sandy Bridge & Kaby Lake I needed overclocking to get top performance. I honestly think I don't need OC w/ ADL.

    WTF - Z690/uATX ?

Made the necessary decisions - overall determined I don't absolutely need the Z690 mobo or even having to OC the ADL CPU given the built in turbo. MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core i5-12600K - Core i5 12th Gen Alder Lake...

Lian Li all brushed aluminum cases

I don't see myself getting rid of my Sliger Cerberus MicroATX case anytime soon. I'm not big on the gaudy RGB look either, other than maybe some low level lighting on my motherboard or RTX card. Back when I sold off my two Lian-Li V600 aluminum cases about five years ago I had no trouble...

    WTF - Z690/uATX ?

Only one so far from ASRock: ASRock Z690M Phantom Gaming 4 supports DDR4 4800MHz (OC) https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z690M%20Phantom%20Gaming%204/index.asp

    WTF - Z690/uATX ?

Looking over the list of Z690 mobos that are coming out early next month. The huge percentage of these are ATX or eATX. Since we are not relying on SLI/Crossfire that much these days I don't understand the need for a huge system. I've done ITX builds and managed to work out some tight situations...

Lian Li all brushed aluminum cases

Lian Li made some crazy cases over the years. They have definitely toned it down recently.

    Pixel 5A

Interesting - My LG G7+ Thinq is still a rockin' phone after 3 years. Two Android OTA updates helped, but it stops at 10. The one downside is that the unlocked phone has is that it doesn't support wi-fi calling. The only non-carrier phones I know of that support wi-fi calling are either Apple or...
