    I'm trying to boot Knoppix (v3.4, 5/17/04) off the LiveCD on my HP Pavilion ze4805 notebook. After the splash screen, it shows dark black screen and stays that way. The HDD doesnt spin, the CDROM doesnt spin, just nothing. Has there been any reported issues? What could cause it to do this...

    hey all, I'm a Linux newbie. I'm currently running Mandrake 10 Community with KDE 3.1, and LOVE it. Mandrake really is a great distro for beginners, I was able to pick it up and go, right from the start. It works beautifly with my hardware, without much fuss or swearing. I hope to try many more...

    Win 2000 Pro - questions

    Personally, I'd stay with XP. Win2K is great and all (I use it on my personal machine), but XP doesn't have some of the software/hardware/OS compatibility errors that 2k has. At my brothers school, they bought brand-new top of the line computers, reformatted them with 2k. Not 2 weeks later...
