Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I've just installed 64bit XP and played a little bit of
Doom3 and Halo. Didn't notice any difference in speed.
Haven't run any bench marks though, thats probably the only way
I would see any difference.
Have you swapped the two sata adaptors between the drives to
rule out a bad adaptor? Also double check the jumper on the
'bad drive' makesure its jumpered the same as the other sata
drive. Your power supply should be able to handle it.
Drives will draw a little extra current on spin up and...
I installed 64bit XP build 1069 with no problems on my
K8N-E Mobo. Build 1218 on the same board always BSOD's
right after it loads F6 drivers and says starting windows.
I would like to know if anyone has successfully installed
build 1218 on the board.
You shouldn't have to do a bunch of extensive testing.
Sound to me like you've done all you need to.
I would contact the company you bought it from and get
it RMA'd and exchanged for a new one. Or if you bought it
localy take it to them to test.
One thing did you take the floppy frive from...
Does the DFI board use the same Silicon Image SATA controller.
If it does it might work but I would say probably not.
By driver disk do you mean the CD a floppy to use while
installing XP (F6). There is a program on the CD to create a
driver floppy. Also any driver you need can be downloaded...
I would clear the cmos using the procedure in the manual?
Also plug a speaker into the sound jack to hear the Asus post
reported. Could be your CPU or ram. What video cards did you
try?
Has anyone installed 64bit XP on the silicon image controller
on this MB? I press F6 and it copied files of the floppy but
later on in setup it doesn't see any drives on the si3114
controller.
Thanks
JM
I'm using this same CPU and mother board. It's a good board.
The only problem I'm having is Acronis true image doesn't
support the VIA raid controller yet.
