Can't get any of the cloning software to recognize the SSD

Okay, I would try Macrium cold as I described earlier as it's easier to use than clonezilla. However if it continues to error out then you would be best served to try https://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live.php . Clonezilla isn't very user friendly so be careful and read all the prompts, you...

Can't get any of the cloning software to recognize the SSD

That should just work as they are both SATA drives so no MBR to GPT problems. I would try it cold, just make sure to pay attention that you are choosing the proper drives as source and destination. I have seen people accidentally clone the intended destination to their source. That leads to...

Can't get any of the cloning software to recognize the SSD

Are you trying to clone a SATA SSD to a nVME SSD? Also, I tend to clone boot drives cold. Meaning create bootable recovery media using Macriums wizard. Once thats done reboot the machine and boot from the recovery media oncie it's loaded you should be able to clone the entire drive in one...

Nvme ? what is this connector ?

Yeah, Workstation/Server market is a different animal all together, something I am VERY used to dealing with. Aesthetics come second in this market. Have you decided what memory you are going to use? I would definitely stick to SuperMicros HCL for that, I have had very good luck with either...

Nvme ? what is this connector ?

If you were to combine the adapter cable I linked above with this: http://www.microsatacables.com/u-2-sff-8639-to-m-2-nvme-ssd-adapter-1261 you may be able to add a couple more m.2 drives to the system. Might be a cable/mountin nightmare, but would be interesting to see if it worked.

Nvme ? what is this connector ?

After seeing the better picture that you posted I am almost certain those are "oculink" ports. Here is a link to an adapter cable: http://store.supermicro.com/55cm-oculink-sff-8639-u2-cbl-sast-0956.html You're definitely going to want to contact Supermicro though. Good Luck!

Nvme ? what is this connector ?

I don't think the ports are U.2, the expansion bay is but these ports are Oculink: http://www.connectortips.com/oculink-connectors-cables-support-new-pcie-standard/ At least that's what they look like to me. Jesus, just when I think they have created every single method of interfacing w/...

Nvme ? what is this connector ?

I believe they are the 2 PCI-E 3.0 NVMExpress x4 Internal Port(s) that they reference on their webpage for that board. Supermicro has some chassis that have removable NVMe 2.5" HDD bays I believe these are ports for those. Yeah, I just looked at the Manual and that's what they are. They are...

    Totally lost....Booting Windows 10 out of two SSD's (sm961) in RAID0

Isn't the Formula just a sub-model of the Maximus lineup? It's this board right: https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-FORMULA/ You are using UEFI boot and not CSM, correct? I am not sure if the RAID options will appear in the BIOS if CSM is enabled, but since you are...

    Totally lost....Booting Windows 10 out of two SSD's (sm961) in RAID0

Is this the procedure that you went through to enable RAID: https://rog.asus.com/articles/guides/how-to-install-two-m2-ssds-in-raid-0-on-maximus-ix-motherboards/

    Totally lost....Booting Windows 10 out of two SSD's (sm961) in RAID0

Considering you are already running an NVME SSD, I would agree. Unless you are really in need of the additional capacity on your boot volume, RAID-0 is just a risk/complication that probably isn't worth it.

    Totally lost....Booting Windows 10 out of two SSD's (sm961) in RAID0

This can be done, however the free version of Macrium won't cut it in this case. You will need a PAID version of Macrium Reflect which supports recovering to new hardware. Then you will have the option to inject the new RAID drivers into your restored image, Macrium calls it ReDeploy and it...
