Geforce 1080 or Voodoo 1080? (VOTE)

I don't think using Dodge is a great comparison, Dodge is/was rebuilding a brand. Nvidia already has a great line up with Geforce and Titan. Nvidia is not missing in any product segment.

Geforce 1080 or Voodoo 1080? (VOTE)

millennials is some catch all term made up by older folk. I bet those researchers are mid to late 30s or older. There are huge differences between mid 80s and 90s kids. Cartoons watched, clothing style, music, world events, etc. I felt old when 'street fighter' drew blank faces. 32...

Geforce 1080 or Voodoo 1080? (VOTE)

Voodoo is too old to be recognizable by younger people. You guys are talking about the late 90s like it was 2 years ago...

MS Cloud Storage takes a turn

That's funny, I wonder if that 75TB is legit use or just to cost MSFT money.

Would you buy a GTX 980 Ti Production OEM sample for $500 or not a good idea?

A 'production oem' sample might be an engineering sample, I don't know if nvidia is like intel with engineering samples Intel engineering samples show up on ebay quite often even though they aren't supposed to be sold / are property of Intel. I'd be a little wary, could be hit or miss.

Legendary CPU architect Jim Keller leaves AMD

Newer isn't necessarily better, Keller has a very strong record.

AMD: Zen will offer 40% faster performance per clock than Carrizo

I'm hoping for an AMD revival, not likely but I remember reading in 1998 on the Intel website with how Intel wanted to keep 32bit computing well into 2013...

ASUS - our 5 year warranty is really only 3 years

Lol, new month, new asus thread. Maybe someone should write their HQ in Taiwan on American expectations for customer service for premium products. One place I worked at, had a underperforming US division, US top management did their best to hide everything. It took the company board 6...

10nm CPUs to not launch, replaced by more 14nm!

Lol, I was wondering why TSMC was still making 28nm chips in 2015. I remember them touting 20nm or so a few years back. I'm still running on Westmere i7-980... I'm more interested in the ramifications for mobile chips though (if true).

    Fanboys,

I'd blame most of the argumentation on insecurity or boredom.

    PowerColor Fury X : Supports HDMI 2.0

There's still room for a mustard packet next to the hot dog, right above the AMD logo.

Your video card time to upgrade criteria?

I'm constrainted by power budget. I upgraded from 2x 5770 to a 980 since the 980 only 2x 6pin. (Using an old mac pro 2009).

AMD Appoints Dr. Lisa Su as President and CEO, Read Steps Down

I think the AMD board needs a rework. I liked Dirk Meyer but they pushed him out for more of a marketing guy (Rory). Su is engineering oriented much like Meyer was it seems. Seems like the board is backtracking? Best of luck to AMD.
