    Thoughts on quantum encryption

I suggest reading this article which does a good job of describing how it works. The "Receiving Is the Key" & "Detecting Interlopers" sections are especially helpful.

    Thoughts on quantum encryption

The reason the man-the-middle attack does not work is that he has no way of knowing if the bits he detected were in the correct position or not. He also cannot "forward" the photons in the same state that they were sent since any attempt to "look" at them causes interference. Even the intended...

Recommend me a book about compilers

I studied compilers from the dragon book, and it's good enough to get you started. It may be old, but the basic concepts in compilers have not changed.

    computer enginnering

I majored in Computer Engineering for a couple of years before I made the switch to CS. It is basically an EE degree with some emphasis on computers/CS.

Java Parser (Lexical Scanner) Written in C

You can find just about everything you want to know about Java here, which provides grammars and lexical structure. You could probably just store the keywords, operators, etc. as constants and search/compare each token. Variables would be the tokens that do not match one of the constants...

Best 2 player games for GameCube

I don't think Burnout 3 is available for the Cube.

    World of Warcraft is live.

I normally don't play PvP in the MMORPGs, but I must say that WoW has got me excited about it. I like the fact that PvP is Alliance vs Horde. This is a great idea for PvP instead of the normal every man for himself sort of thing. Anyone that is playing able to offer their insight on PvP?

VALVe disables 20,000 steam accounts (haha)

Anyone actually thought of why HL2 checks for a CD if you bought the retail in store? For those of us that bought it over Steam we don't have to worry about it. It may not seem like a big deal, but to me it seems pointless to require the CD. You have to connect to Steam to verify your...

    World of Warcraft is live.

I'm going out of town tomorrow, so I won't get to play for 2 weeks. :( I haven't bought the game yet, would be a waste of my free month. Anyone know if you play off of someone's 10 free trial will you get to keep the same account once you purchase the game?

    Best program to learn typing?

I learned to type properly by typing out the lyrics to music that I would listen to. That and programming. You need to make a conscious effort to not look at the keyboard while you type, even when you make mistakes. Eventually you will get better and it becomes second nature.

    Mayday! Neo2 + 90nm = Oh No

I think what you're referring to is the problem with the 1.1 BIOS that didn't support dual channel properly and would not POST with both sticks. It sounds like his problem is with the ram and not the 90nm s939.

What games are gonna be hot in 2005???

I'm looking forward to EQ2. I stopped playing the beta a couple weeks ago because, well it's beta. I want to wait for it to be released and most of the kinks to be worked out until I devote anymore time to it.

    A64 Mobo

Sure you can run the dual channel sticks on s754 boards, but you get use of single-channel mode only. The s939 boards have the dual memory controllers allowing for the two channels to be used which means greater memory bandwidth. Buying a s939 board for this reason is a good idea.

Not too much longer now for NF4 boards...

So is there not going to be any AGP support?
