Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Update on this: Managed to pull the front bezel off (pull straight up on the LCD side of the bezel-edge) and got access to the internals (no tools required).
However, turns out that even if there were VESA mounts in there, the actual design of the monitor would prevent you from running with...
Has anyone taken apart a monitor that does not come with VESA mounts to see if there are VESA mounts inside, just not accessible with the bezel on?
We have a lot of Dell ST2420L monitors here (purchased by mgmt for the price) but they do not have VESA mounts. I'm not able to pull one apart...
Thanks for the heads-up w1retap. I'll keep that in mind if any bulbs die on me.
Interestingly enough, I've encountered no end of hate for this project. Some people have no imagination, or just don't like having fun!
It actually hasn't increased the temps as much as you'd think, and I don't leave it on all the time. CPU idle is same as it was before, around 46 (which is kinda high in my books, but even OCed to 2.8 it's stable as a rock).
timme - No, I seriously doubt that. CCs don't have the directed output that projected HID does. I don't have my SD1000 - wife has that on a business trip - so I can't get video. It looks really cool in person.
Ozarkboy - Not expensive, as the parts were already there, cost me nothing to...
Hey all, I don't think I've ever posted a mod...let alone even done one, so here's my first attempt.
I had a Mustang a few years back and got a full HID kit for it, then sold the Mustang but couldn't sell the HID kit, so it's sat in my back room all this time. (03 GT convertible 5spd if...
Edit: Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted in one of these threads over the years...you've all been inspirations for room re-organizing/upgrading. Thanks! (I'd also note that it probably doesn't look that way in the pictures!)
Wow...I've been looking at these threads for...
Mine's messy, but it doesn't see too much [H] work these days, so I can live with that. Once the photo editing and recording get underway, I'll clean 'er up.
specs: E6400 w. Scythe, Asus P5W DH Deluxe, 2GB Mushkin, 500w Seasonic, x300se passive, 2405, 2x7200.10-320GB RAID1 Arrays.
edit...
I have the P5W DH in a p180b, and it fits fine. Also using a Scythe Ninja, which also fits fine. Running an e6400 passive with the top two case fans on low, great temps, very quiet.
I'm crying inside that you killed a cool and old snare drum. (I also thought it was a tom, but marching snare works)
That being said...haha awesome mod, last place I would look for a computer.
