    Need advice on a linux distro to choose.

    Mint and Arch are my backups to Ubuntu. I like Ubuntu as it "just works" for me and reduces the amount of configging required. I've heard of boot issues with laptops - mine won't boot if the power connector is attached (has to do with linux not being very good at parsing acpi instructions)...
