    Thanks for the tip, but that driver will not install any more than the generic Nvidia drivers. I'm thinking that this is an HDMI issue of some kind; will report back once I attempt a non-HDMI-connected install.

    Not really. First, OpenVZ is not a "full" VM like VMware or Xen - it is more like user mode Linux. Second, the B3 stepping will show up eventually, and then no issue at all.
