Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Why's MSI so far down on everyone's list? From what I've read, they seem to be solid stable cards. And have a really decent cooling solution.
I'm waitin on mine just ordered from Newegg. Hoping I didn't make a bad decision....
Hey everyone. Last time I did one of these threads, I kind of screwed up. Things came up, and I kind of disappeared for awhile before any deals had been made. I apologize for that. I should have at least said "It's gonna be a little while, hold tight" or something to that effect. I tried to make...
eVGA 6800
49C idle. 72C Full on, throwin everything rthdribl2 has at her.
Stock cooling and at my max, artifact free, overclock of 390/900.
Happy enough with this to not give Newegg the 40 bucks they want for the NV silencer 5. I'll pick one up after I trade up to a GT. Maybe they will...
Thanks, I think I may go with that Shuttle board. It is only temporary, Gonna start picking up parts here and there for a nice 64bit system in the meantime.
I just recently went through my system and got it almost to where I want it. My budget had originally been $400, but then I just kept seeing things that I not only wanted, but needed to have. 1 gig of good brand name memory, 6800 card, nice case, lots of cooling (I had been putting up with 50+...
I upgraded from a 5200 as well. The difference is MINDBLOWING!
You will definitly not be disappointed. I went from a measly 1100 3DMark03 score to almost 9400 (with other mods as well, mostly just RAM). Amazing
I love my regular 6800 from them. Been able to overclock it like mad, and temps are not an issue (not sure about the above poster, but from what I hear GT's, they run hot as it is. It's a reference design cooler on the card as well, so it won't cool and better, or any worse than most other cards...
6800 hands down. Don't even consider an FX card with a 300 dollar budget...
Plus as the regular 6800's are around 270 or so for eVGA or similar, he'll have cash leftover for other goodies. Win-win situation.
Powerstrip is an overclocking program. I like it, as it's the only program I've tried that will take my card as high as it is. Riva tuner stops me at 850.
They also have some Asus X800XT PE's in stock for the ati guys. For the low, low price of 800 bucks....
P.S. You won't be disappointed with your evga card. I love mine, just wish I had gotten the GT.
My eVGA is at 390/902 :D When I get my NV Silencer (Damn the folks at Arctic Cooling, no reason why its not out yet), I'm hoping for 400/950.
I've still got headroom where I am right now, I could go higher with the memory, but my temps are starting to get kinda high. Some AS5 and the NV...
