I love this. I think it's amazing! I'm so impressed that Dell made this.
I have a Sony 43" 4K and an older Dell 43" 4K display now. My 43" displays are an inch or so taller than this 52".
The height of mine are only a problem if I slouch way down in my chair. Otherwise, the height is perfectly...
Wow. I just saw this on MacRumors. I came here to see if anyone was talking about it. I think it needs its own thread.
It's available now $2899.99.
I'm impressed.
I have a 43" 4K TV as a monitor now. It's great. But, what would be even better would be 55" at the same or greater DPI. Imagine 43" 4K and making it bigger by adding pixels to make it 55" without making the pixels bigger. Higher DPI would be better because I can just scale up the UI and...
I know there are a few 65" 8K TVs.
I don't think there are any 55" 8K TVs anymore, right?
Are there any 60" 8K TVs or anything less than 65"? I searched rtings.com, and I don't see any.
Are any coming?
The new M2 Mac mini with the "M2 Pro" chip supports 8K at 60Hz over HDMI 2.1 with an HDMI cable that supports 48 Gbps.
I'm thinking about using that with the Samsung 55" 8K QN700B.
I'm trying to figure out if that will work.
Will that give me 60Hz and 4:4:4 chroma?
Any downsides?
Are there any practical options for 42" to 55" monitors with greater than 4K resolution?
I have a 43" 16:9 4K 60Hz Sony X720E right now. It's very good. I'm just dreaming about what my next monitor might be. I'd like something higher resolution, maybe a little bigger, and maybe a higher refresh...
Regardless of the monitor you get, color calibration can make a huge improvement as far as viewing dark scenes. I have an old Spyder4Pro. What I notice most after calibration is that I can see the difference between shades where before things were all muddy because the shades were too bunched up...
I made a video putting together my new setup. It's a 2018 Mac mini + Sony 43" X720E + Ergotron LX HD Arm. It's a huge upgrade for me compared to what I had before.
I sure wish this came in a 50-55" size. That would make it around the same height and dpi as a typical 43" 4K, but about 12" wider.
This 5120x2160 is the ultimate resolution, in my opinion.
I read that the Sony X720E standby mode doesn't kick in for 15 minutes after the input signal turns off. Is that true? If so, that seem too long to be practical.
Anyone that uses this as a monitor, do you use the standby mode, or do you turn it on/off manually?
If manually, do you find the...
Besides this site, where is a good news site or blog where I can read about new displays, monitors, and TVs that might be coming? I just did some googling, and searched a few gadget sites, but I don't see much.
I'm looking for updates on what's planned or rumored for 2019 from the major...
