Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Oddeiga - Is there another DSound application running at boot-up or running in the background? Also, do you have another audio device installed on your machine?
Hey E4g1e, are you certain that the drivers are resampling the audio? From what you just said, it sounds like there isn't an Audigy chip that would require them to do so. If there's no DSP that's locked to 48kHz, then that seems strange. Plus, it seems like that would add a lot of overhead...
Something to consider here...
Since the inception of EAX 2.0, developers that use Direct Sound 3D or Open AL have control over the amount of reverb placed on 3D buffers. Up until very recently, 2D buffers weren't able to have reverb properties placed on them. Since a lot of dialogue or...
The only difference is the SB Go! comes with a set of noise cancellation headphones in one complete package. Otherwise, they both contain the same USB stereo audio device.

Having spent a considerable amount of time with the Philips and the Mad Dog, I'd say go for the Philips. It's a cleaner sounding card with decent performance in games and listening to music.
The Mad Dog managed to lock up my machine repeatedly. I also found it to lacking in the mid-range...
Rebates are particularly tricky things. The fact that you were required to send in the entire box top may correlate with the amount of rebate you're getting. I think sending in a box top to get $50 back isn't an unreasonable thing.
How much time did you have to get the rebate in? Did you...
Sorry to say, but that's no 10kx-based chip action happening on the Audigy LS. Check the product specs, the CA0106-DAT part is an entirely different beast.
Wow, where did you hear that? They named their newest portable audio/video device the "Zen Portable Media Center".
You mean to say their getting rid of the Zen line altogether? Can you provide a pointer to where you got that information?
EAX is an umbrella term for a host of Creative audio enhancement technologies as well as a gaming API. What exactly are you trying to turn off, specific features, CMSS, etc...?
Win2k is a bit of a fussy OS for audio driver install and uninstall. Did you have a Creative sound card installed in that machine before or perhaps the driver was only partially installed? A partial or botched install could cause problems for any future re-install of the drivers. Best bet is...
Something to try if you are using Win2k or WinXP:
Shut down, Remove the sound card, Power Up, Uninstall any Creative software or drivers INCLUDING doing a regedit and clearing out the Creative Tech folder, Restart, make sure nothing is hanging out in the Program File folder or registry, Restart...
CMSS is for upmixing stereo content into surround speakers, or for creating a virtual surround field for stereo/headphone set-ups. Any Direct Sound or Open AL game bypasses the CMSS stuff anyway. If your speakers are doing a virtual upmix, then disable that feature before gaming. This way...
Woah, before you get all crazy, try and track down a thread on this forum discussing as much. It's not the ideal thing to do, and not worth frying the cable, the card, or the Live! Drive.
In the instance of Jedi Academy or any EAX-enabled game, keep in mind that the developer is setting the amount and type of EAX effects per source. Jedi Academy is an either/or situation, EAX is either on because you have an Audigy-series sound card or off if you don't. Therefore, any effects...
