    Your best bet is to get a card with a lifetime warranty. Your second best bet would be to get better cooling. If you can, get both. I believe Evga has a lifetime warranty and will honor it even if you put an after market cooler onto your card.

    More importantly, what do you have for a cpu? I have an old p4 system, 2.8ghz cpu and a 6800gs. With overclocking, and testing. I have found my cpu is the bottleneck.

    Your video card will most likely not be your bottleneck at that resolution.

    I would say it is safe to do it that much. You see, the thing is, when you lower your clocks you lower the amount of heat output. Therefore you may also wish to lower your 2D Fan speeds, in order to save even more power.

    I too believe this to be a power supply issue. These card(s) are most likely drawing more power then other cards you may have tried in the past.
