Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yes. For the first time ever, power consumption will matter to me.
I am moving out and utilities are no longer free. I want a desktop (yes a desktop, not another notebook), and I am going mini-atx for space reasons. To the point, I don't want my desktop consuming tons of energy. So if there...
I think I am going to go ahead with a new computer build. A mini-atx or HTPC case, intel core 2 duo or quad, maybe ddr3....., gtx260, 1.5tb hard drive.
My room is honestly really noisy and I have a desk on wheels that I turn around and watch T.V. with and do homework on already.
Since most of our archival needs are outside of the capabilities most cases offer....
I would figure a SAN or NAS expandable storage system would be the way to go for storage......
I might also add that my HTPC would be in the same room as a E6600 with 5x120mm fans running at full blast, and at least 1 other desktop running at the same time, and up to 2 laptops.....
So my room is quiet noisy to begin with....
Well I have recently received a 55" Vizio T.V., I know Vizio right? Sucks huh? But the T.V. was free (not kidding ya here, week 21 winner of the vizio sweepstakes).
I have always wanted a nice TV and then to be able to run video out at 1080p or 720p, and then yes....game on my HTPC.
I've...

N330 version of the Zotac board is out now coming in at $189.
Finally a choice worth getting.......almost
The Z550 with intel vt and 2ghz of speed. also 2.4w vs 8w for the n330. But only half a meg of L2 instead of a full meg...
I would wait. I am in the same boat as you. E6600 although I do not run in 1920x1080. I fortunately only run 1680x1050.
Anyways I think if we wait a little longer we will get a better bang for our buck when we do upgrade. My friend with an E6600 just upgraded to a GTX260 and he says it has...
I know the attention is elsewhere, but I think the "future" is here...Nvidia and Intel really playing ball in the ultra small computing environment with limited power consumption. If you look at the roadmap for Intel's Atom chip, it seems like by 2010 we will have plenty of CPU head room...
Clips on youtube show a lot of promise I think but they were Nvidia demos and they probably paired it up with a decent CPU.
Never owned an Atom chip and was just wondering if anyone ever went out and made the ultimate mini HTPC
That and I saw the Acer Revo and was thoroughly impressed by its size, and was wondering if anyone was able to shed any light on to how this Atom chip and Ion GPU would perform in a HTPC environment. Doing 1080p or 720p playback, some light video game usage, web browsing, yeah yeah.
