Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
As much as I root for the underdog(nvidia) - I gotta say this.
My gaming machine is a P4 2.8e with 1GB RAM(dual channel) Intel 865mobo. I have the FX5950 in there right now, my primary use machine has a 9800pro. The two cards are incredibly close in benchmarks(Aquamark, Codecreatures, and...
If you are really planning to upgrade again later (and come on this is [H] who isn't?) and you don't want to spend alot.
Geforce FX5700Ultra - can be had for like $160 on newegg.
Now you've got $40 to put towards the next card when the time comes.
FWIW - I know on WD HD's that there is an undocumented (or at least rarely documented) jumper setting which remedies this problem.
::;;:
Look above and put the jumper there on WD's drives that are having this problem. It's the proper setting for a single drive. I've been told this by...
FWIW - I had a ti4200 a while back that I oc'd the hell out of, it displayed artifacts after I did that. Even when I ran it down at stock speeds, it still did it. I'm sure I caused damage to it, so I eventually just RMA'd it.
Now using a 9800pro in one machine, and a 5950U in the other...
Software raid5 = bad idea. Spend the money on a decent raid5 controller like the offerings from Promise.
I'm currently running six 250GB drives (5 in array 1 as online spare) with a Promise SX6000 w/128MB. Speed is good, unless the array is synchronizing, in which case file access times are...
I run six WD 250GB Drives in RAID5 on a Promise Supertrak card with 128MB.
Yes, the card makes a difference, but I ran four WD 120GB drives on an onboard High Point raid chipset on my Soyo Dragon 333 Ultra Platinum. Never lost the array. Alot can be said for quality components. A properly...
should have knocked on wood
I had event logging disabled. Lesson learned - array lost. I am now running with one of the drives configued as a spare - and the event logging is on - thank god for my backups on the old 120GB drives in my closet.
FWIW - I have the SX6000(w/128mb dimm) with six WD 250GB drives, and it has never given me a problem. I ran it with six WD 120's also for a quite a while before without a problem also. Configuration isn't exactly streamlined, but it works. Oh, and from my limited testing 16k is fine for block...
Check out the Lian-Li PCV2000B - it costs a little more, but it's the kind of case you are going to want to use for a long long time. I've owned alot of cases over the years - and built plenty for friends, family, and clients. The Lian-Li PCV1000/2000's are pretty much the best designed cases...
Yeah, I have this case - don't worry about it. The case comes with two cd rom bezels in it already. You should be fine.
I've also got an Inwin Q500N and a Lian-Li PCV2000B. All great cases in differint ways, but the swap of my main box to the Lian-Li case from the Inwin dropped my case/cpu...
Use the search! Just Kidding
in game - or on the main menu you can pull up the console by holding Control and Alt and hitting "`" (aka ~)
noclip will let you walk through walls. it's a toggle - once on/once again off. don't get yourself stuck in the floors walls ceilings etc. Have fun.
That's one hell of a bug to spawn an enemy on the opposite side of the wall, shake the screen and then make the enemy crawl up the side of the screen - disappearing into the ceiling without collision detection.
Comments??
Oh, and that screenshot is great. Where in the game is that?
How about this easter egg.
When you first start, and the guy Marsh gives you your pistol. Use noclip, walk through the wall with the glass he's standing behind and disable the security by clicking on the button on the monitor in the front. Watch out the window as an imp scales the wall and...
