Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
i have an older set of g.skill in my current computer, and they work just fine.
but i wonder if this set:

DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), 4-4-4-12 timings, F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ
would be better for serious overclocking with a c2d...
You should pick up a nice widescreen LCD, lots of good deals out there right now. The display subforum has a lot of great info... It's just such a shame to have a kickass computer but a POS monitor :(
besides the 70 dollars hsf, i have excellent case ventilation, which is why my temps are so low. the only downside is that my computer is a little on the noisy side, but i've gotten use to it.
i'm having the same issue.
earlier today it crashed out of dod:s and gave me an error.
then just 10 minutes ago, it did the sound looping crash, but i could press the windows key, then "U" and press enter, and it proceeded to shut down normally (ctrl-alt-del would cause task manager to...
this motherboard doesn't have onboard video
and agp aperature size is set to 128
and also, even with just the 1 gig stick in, it would show it as a 32 mb stick, and thus i would only have 32 megs of memory, and windows xp wouldn't boot :p
tried everything posted in this thread so far, and none of it seems to have worked.
anyway, i think i'm gonna just return this stick as well. Instead, i am gonna upgrade to a 3800+ X2 :p
thank you for your responses though, i appreciate it!
In the specs for this motherboard, an Iwill KA-266-R (back from like 2001), it says that it supports up to 3gb's of memory, and it has 3 slots for memory on the motherboard. Logic dictates that it should be able to support a 1GB stick of memory....yes?
Well anyway, I just purchased a 1gb...
i downloaded 71.24's and coolbits 2
enabled "fan always on"
fan still doesn't spin
the other day after turning it on i was watching the video card while the computer was booting up, and the fan was trying to turn but not doing a very good job, like it was not getting enough power to turn...
i called tech support tonight, the guy said that the fans are designed to shut off if they aren't needed, or if they aren't getting enough power
i was planning on upgrading my PSU, so i'll do that and see if it helps
he also suggested making sure no other devices are running off the molex...
seeing the responses so far on that the fans should both be spinning, i'll call tech support later today or tomorrow and see what they say
i'd rather get an RMA than an aftermarket fan cooler... i just got this card less than 3 weeks ago
