    9800pro will DEFINITLY out perform the 9600XT at your resolutions hands down. 9800pro doesn't just give higher frame rates at higher Res's, 8 vs 4 pipeline structure makes a huge difference. Cost wise? Thats a personal issue, I wen't with a 9800pro a couple months ago after I fried my new FX5900...
