Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Doom3 is the B horror movie scary. You know something is coming soon, but not exactly when. However, I find that is pretty predictable after a while.
I also agree that System Shock 2 has more of a "fright" factor. Though both have a lost in space by yourself feel, I feel that SS2 gave me...
Yeah the netcode is weak. I also think that there is something wrong with the a gameplay. With my system, I usually don't below 40 frames even in a battle, but the games feels too choppy no matter where I play. Something does not seem right. I used to play with 25 fps in regular CS before my...
make sure that AA, AF, and vertical synch are off. Same thing happened to me. I thought I was really far below until I made those changes. Look into the driver control panel and make the changes in the custom settings.
The way I understand it is that you will get CS:Source if you buy HL2. I think that is pretty fair. Even if you did have to purchase it seperately, I don't think that it is unreasonable, as long as the price is reasonable like $20 as mentioned before. Valve has and is continuing to support...
I guess it depends on the budget.
First off, next gen games will require next gen graphics cards. Those who suggest Radeon 9800 pro are steering you wrong. You will want to get either the Nvidia 6800 series or the ATI X800 series. I built my system system in February and I cringe...
I think aug is mostly right. The onboard C-media for my board was pretty darn good for the most part. Its sound was detailed enough and I used it for a short time for music and gaming. It did not have the horsepower to handle a lot of demand (like base battles in planetside) so it started...
I also understand that not all older games play well with WinXP. Some are okay, other not. I don't know this game you speak of, so I am not sure if it was made for XP or not.
The MX700 is not stupid for gaming. It acts just like a wired mouse. I noticed no difference from it than the Boomslang I was using before and that Boomslang was tight.
Nice set up and it will be easy to upgrade in the future. One thing I noticed, but may not be too big of a deal is the video card. It say it supports OpenGL 1.5. However other Radeon 9800 pros support 2.0. Could be a typo, but maybe you might want to check that out.
The other minor thing...
Does this only happen with online gaming? Have you tried another game? CS offline, CZ perhaps? Does the skipping happen during fire fights only or during "peacetime"?
If it happens offline too, unplug your internet connection and try again.
I had a similar, but not as bad problem as you...
I had a similar problem once, I thought I was banned once because of it. Did you try my suggestion? If not, then don't ask questions. :)
Actually, right click icon in task bar and "exit and logout" should work.
Try this. Load Steam and click games. Under games, right click on CounterStrike. About middle of the way down, you will see something called "Launch Options". In this section, cut and paste the following:
-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms
Launch CS and see if it helps. I had a similar...
