Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hello, everyone.
I am building a business class computer using the following motherboard:
http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1363&l1=3&l2=101&l3=0&l4=0
The motherboard supports DDR2-800 Mhz. Is this independent of the CPU? I want to use an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+(65W)...
My last 3 builds for people were AMD-based. I had complete control of components and, like many people, chose AMD for its performance vs. price.
I'm LONG overdue for a new computer myself, and Mr. C is looking very, very interesting.
Software never (rarely?) keeps up with hardware. I can remember software developers saying the same thing back in the 8-bit days. They never took full advantage of those machines because competition between hardware manufacturers was aggressive and no one could keep up. .
If they were going to raise prices they wouldn't tell you about ahead of time unless they wanted you to know about it. They are getting ready for the eventual Conroe squeeze by getting people to buy their processors now. Don't wait, buy now! If you wait too long, you just might be tempted to...
What Intel has done is basically say "If you're thinking about buying our competitor's stuff in the next several months, hold off and we'll have something a good deal better." What's so ridiculous about that?
As consumers, how can any of us lose in the short term? Even if you don't buy a...
Bypass your router and connect your computer directly to the modem and see if it still does it. I had the same trouble with my setup for a while and Time Warner blamed the router. After repeated calls to them it suddenly stopped doing it. Are you doing any peer-to-peer file sharing?
Not this time. It took them a week from when they received my 2nd return to when they actually opened it. While I did get my refund today, the 25$ was a lie and now they aren't responding to my emails. I suppose I'll have to call them to see if I can hold them to their word.
When you are as...
Good news: Called Newegg and they said it was a warehouse mistake. They said they would refund the money for the drive and credit us 25 bucks for our trouble when they get the drive back. Just when I was about to say bad things about them they go and be nice.
Someone at Newegg's New Jersey...
I ordered a new hard drive a couple of weeks ago:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148062
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 ST3250823A 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive OEM
Item description says IDE interface, right? They end up sending me the serial...
Its not funny, the UPS worker that literally dropped-off my 6600GT didn't care a bit. He would have found that my porch door (about 35 feet away) was unlocked if he cared enough to bother to step off the truck.
