Convert FS to WS, is this possible for 2001FP / 2005FPW?

That is what was said... and what I am saying is that the 2005fpw IS wider by a significant amount. In widescreen, the screen is physically and in pixels, larger than the same ratio on a 2001fp. If you already own a 2001fp, fantastic, then you can get close to what a 2005fpw offers without...

Convert FS to WS, is this possible for 2001FP / 2005FPW?

Except that the 2001fp screen is only 16" wide. 2005fpw is 17.2" I believe. So it is physically wider. Also, overall the 2001fp is about 192in^2, whereas the 2005fpw about 185in^2... so you lose a 7in^2 screen area but it has been stretched wider. Then you have the debate that 1680x1050 is...

    Dell’s UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen 20-inch LCD monitor.

I was looking at the Apple Cinema 20" and the HP L2335, as well as the 243T... but it looks like TWO 2005FPW's will cost about the same and give me HUGE screen area! w1n!

If size really does matter, I'm starting to get lonely...

Throw it out? Bust that shit up. You gotta go medieval on it. Maybe you can just throw it out, but you should do it like I used to throw out my garbage... From 4 stories up with only a 1 in 5 chance of landing in the dumpster. Can you say "HULK SMASH!!!" ? :D

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

#1: mmmm.... 30" proteins. #2: That is just obscene... I think that screen is bigger than my coffee table. #3: Nice pussy. :D

Timetable - when is an affordable, high performance wide screen gaming LCD arriving?

There's a pretty decent buzz about Dell's new 2005FPW... looks to be the same or a similiar panel to the 20" Apple Cinema. Dell has it on for only $680 right now too  Haven't seen any reviews yet, but I'm excited about it's potential. Can you say 2 x 1680x1050 = 3360x1050? :D

How long do you think a new age videocard can go without a heatsink?

I wish I could say that they both have fan disconnect protection, but I'm not sure that they do. I know the 9800 Series doesn't because you can definitely put a Heatpipe cooler with no fan on there and run it fine. My guess: Card goes Kaput within 3 seconds. SSSTTT! Poof!

ATI's SLI brand to be called Multi Rendering

Many posters are also assuming that Nvidia is being super innovative in bringing us SLI. Do not forget that they may own the 3dfx assets, but are essentially COPYING the idea just as well. It's not so much ATi copying Nvidia, but the both of them copying 3dfx now that the technology is...

our eyes are ready to be clawed out - bad Mobo coloring

I could care less if my motherboard was hot pink with "Ultimate Gayz0r" silkscreened on it, as long as it was the fastest. Why does it matter so much what it looks like? Then again I don't really understand the window fad either. The only useful reason I can think of for all the gaudy...

ATI to copy Nvidia's SLI idea

And now for something completely different! I think that SLI is a good tool to overcome the relatively sharp drop in the performance ratio provided by the GPU production cycle vs new graphics engines. It started with Far Cry, which performed less than perfect on 9800/5900 series cards...

Question about Socket A FSB:RAM ratio

Not really... basically it will just bottleneck and you'll get the lowest common denominator of performance. Better off just syncing it at the lower number.

the new fat1lity gamin rig - mobo and graphics

Took the words right out of my mouth... I mean...hands. That's the board I'm waiting for. If it has the same mosfet cooling and legacy free features as the AA8... along with the ability to hit 300fsb, it could be just the ticket. It's too bad that it won't have SLI, due to the Fatal1ty line...

ATI to copy Nvidia's SLI idea

You're right, the validity of ones opinion is 1 x Their post count... I was commenting lightheartedly about how catsonar here is contradicting (nearly) everyone's general belief that SLI is the best thing since sliced bread, as well as himself, in the same thread. He doesn't get it, but that...

Athlon XP 2600+ and 9800 Pro how good of performance will i get?

I made a similiar upgrade about a year ago... Joint Ops wasn't out then but I saw a very big difference going to the 9800Pro as far as framerate stability. The ol' girl is starting to show her age, but she'll be just fine for some time. Handles HL2 and Doom3 just fine if you dont need insane...
