Nah, just touch an unpainted part of the case before you start stickin your fingers around in there. Same with the screwdriver before you un-do the screw holding the card in.- Dr3wStx

Unplug the power open the case, pop out the old one, put the new one. Plug in the power connector. There you're done. Just go slow and be careful and you'll be fine. Oh, and don't do it on the carpet if you're paranoid about blowing it up again.- Dr3wStx

Windows 98 is not the problem here, I'm aware of its status as a legacy product. Unless you've actully used a HP PSA, it's hard to describe the song and dance that is required to make it work properly. The front end is so web based, I wasn't even aware that it was created on a linux platform...- Dr3wStx

Well I guess ranted long enough about what it doesn't do, now on to what it does do... Well so far I've been able to install debian and have it respond to pings. I'm just fooling around with ssh in hopes I'll be able to console in. Then maybe use it for something other then printing. :P- Dr3wStx

Yes that is exactly the problem with the PSAs, they're designed for cube farms where everyone has the same OS and 1 or 2 different printer models scattered around the building. Yeah, it's a bit tough, I just transfer the hard drive to a different computer and make changes that way. Then plug it back in and hope it works. No agp, or pci slots, it only has what I specified before.- Dr3wStx

Any opinions on the Toshiba Tecra M4?
I've had a terrible time with the Tecra series of computers. I own a Tecra S1 and I've had it serviced for failures 7 times in 2 years (only 7 because I've stoped useing it as a mobile machine). Why does processor report 1/2 the advertised speed? (PICS)
Are you running on that battery when you took that picture? If you're looking to run at full speed all the time, you must plug it in. If you open up the system in the control panel, you'll see that the core speed changes there too.- Dr3wStx

Right click "my computer" then click manage. Then look under the "disk management" tab, is the drive listed there? If so, convert it to a basic disk (or whatever option it gives you)- Dr3wStx

I have an HP 4250 Print server appliance. It's a total piece of crap, I wouldn't recommend this thing to anyone. Audigy 2 NX with rm-1500
Are there ANY HTPC front ends that work with this remote and sound card? I've tried meedio with the creative remote pluign and some other 3rd party IR programs with no luck. I'm tired of screwing around, does anyone have this combo working with anything?- Dr3wStx
