    still jacked into halflife???

damn straight. CS 1.6 is bittorrent-ing as I type along with DOD. I know people with failed marrages because of CS and DOD. Just great games. may be old, may not be flashy but they are just fun, and fun's why we play right?

one easy way to shave off a few seconds is to make hdd-0 the first boot device. Then change it back when you need to use boot media for whatever reason

    Using Linux behind W2k NAT?

very true. I will look into that once I have a bit more experience running and maintaining Linux. Right now I'm just getting to the point where It's a useable desktop machine. Before I get into the server settings, I want to get better with that. Which would be better, I have an old router...

Ok. I upgraded (using rpm -U) xmms and xmms-devel to the latest version to get mp3 support as root. It went without a hitch, and as root, the prog runs fine. However, if I log in with my user account and goto "run application" (or just type xmms from a terminal) I get the old version(edit...

    What linux to use...

I would reccomend any of the more newbie friendly (I'm a relative newbie to linux too, only been really using it for a few days, but I've played with it on and off since about '96, occasionally going full on linux only until school required some) Most people are reccomending gentoo and...
