    Wow Specs

Hey guys, I'm not much of a game myself, but a friend asked me if I could find out if he could amp up his PC to run WoW. I believe he ran the install and it told him his PC was belows specs...either that or he compared it with the specs on the box, but knowing him, I assume he tried to install...

    Troubleshooting a Vista WiFi Connection

Should I assume that the one on the Dell Support page is the newest one? This is the one: Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard Release Date: 3/4/2008 Version: 4.170.25.17 / 4.170.25.12, A17 And it is enabled in the BIOS...

    Troubleshooting a Vista WiFi Connection

This Dell Inspiron 1525 is freshly formatted, with the correct drive pertaining to the service tag. The wifi wouldn't work before I formatted, almost like the switch just needed to be turned on. The switch won't turn on the radio, and I've tried F2, Fn+F2, Shift+F2, to no avail. What else...

Excel: one workbook, multiple column types?

It seems as though you'd have to set landscape orientation, and then carefully set the print area to encompass all of your data, if that's even possible. You might have to use a small font size, but it depends how much data you have...

HP BIOS available for bootable CD?

Bill, you're truly an asset...thanks for all of your time, it makes a lot of sense procedurally. And Ryan, thanks to you as well...I'll jump on flash16 and adjust and report back.

HP BIOS available for bootable CD?

Alright, I have my bootable USB drive with the bios file on the root of it, along with the autoexec.bat file. My only concern is that, say it boots to the USB drive without any prompts (wish me luck with that) and then it launches the autoexec file that initializes the bios file. I'm still going...

HP BIOS available for bootable CD?

Thanks very much for your replies. The thing about memtest or any other utility boot cd is that if something like memory or the video card is causing the issue, I still won't see anything on the display. So I think I'm kind of screwed there. I know it's a slim chance that flashing the BIOS...

HP BIOS available for bootable CD?

So how can I possibly get a bootable BIOS for this machine?

HP BIOS available for bootable CD?

I already posted this on the HP forums, but no response after 3 days. It's in regards to an HP DV2815NR notebook. A friend came to me with this and said she thought the display might be the issue -- that it boots, there is power and activity, but no display. When I brought it in, I was able...

    Video formats, preserving menus

Thanks C&E...I can be a bit thorough at times, sometimes to a fault, and this is probably one of those cases.

    Video formats, preserving menus

Anyone wanna share your brain or thoughts? I did a lot of searching on this, and all I really arrived at was that MP4 is becoming the choice over MKV. And I know most think that if you want menus, just use the disc. And I might just do that, but I'd rather know that answer to this before I...

    Video formats, preserving menus

Hey everyone, I thought this would be the most appropriate place for this question, since HTPCers are usually the type that rip their DVD collections to their HD. And that's just what I'm doing. I've ripped to Video_TS, and then converted to MP4 using HandBrake, preserving menus via the...

    Buying a replacement laptop display

A friend's father gave a thick right jab to his laptop screen (a year-old lenovo). I guess he won the battle, but lost the war. I'm looking on eBay, but I'm curious to know if anyone is familiar with a reputable seller, whether on eBay or not. I only need the screen, and i found it for 95...

XP Pro, SATA, RAID, new install - will not boot without CD

I actually used a floppy for several attempts with different BIOS configurations -- RAID/SATA, SATA only, then incorrect boot orders (the RAID volume is now first)...I just wanted to rule out that step and get them right on the CD.
