Well I had a cheap 300 watt jumstarter bought from a local autoparts store for 39.95 and it worked great powering 12v items for an extended period of time. I would recommend finding something similar locally so you can try it out and return it easily if needed
I have a newer msi gt oc also. I am not sure which version it is, but it did ocassionally make a squealing noise. I believe it is the fan, as it is set to automaticaly adjust speed when "needed". I used rivatuner to set the fan speed at 50-60 percent all the time and I have no ore squaels...
Processor seems fine on the temps, the videocard is a little higher then my msi with a zalman cooler but it is still way under the safe maximum nvidia says it can handle.
try snaking some mechanics wire through the hole and connect it to the the hdmi cable. then pull it through. you may have tried this but its worth a shot.
I think the adpater is just a split 1 molex male, 1 molex female , and 1 6pin pci-e. It's so you dont loose the use of the molex line. However I wouldn't hook up anything else to the adapter as 8800's have a tendency to use some power.

Do what the majority of us do. use online vendors such as newegg to do your shopping. In general they are cheaper and have great return policies. plus you wont get bad advice from a salesman.
I am looking to buy a tv tuner card for my new computer setup. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice on a good tv tuner card. Here is what I am looking for, pci or pci-e1 interface, dvr capability, hd support, and most importantly good picture quality.

In my personal opinion I cant see any difference between hdmi and component. save yourself some money and go with component, as you probably already have the adapter that came with video card.
