    APC power or this?

Well I had a cheap 300 watt jumstarter bought from a local autoparts store for 39.95 and it worked great powering 12v items for an extended period of time. I would recommend finding something similar locally so you can try it out and return it easily if needed

REAL NOOB Power Question 8800GT SC

I think the adpater is just a split 1 molex male, 1 molex female , and 1 6pin pci-e. It's so you dont loose the use of the molex line. However I wouldn't hook up anything else to the adapter as 8800's have a tendency to use some power.

    dual monitor video card advice

You should be fine. I may be mistaken and I am sure someone will correct me if I am, video is more processor intensive then gpu. I believe that is why your laptop cant handle both. The lack of gpu power in the laptop makes it rely on the cpu. The 9600 series will be more then adequate for...

Question about good places to buy computer parts

Do what the majority of us do. use online vendors such as newegg to do your shopping. In general they are cheaper and have great return policies. plus you wont get bad advice from a salesman.

Need to buy today but I'm stuck on choices.

In my personal opinion I cant see any difference between hdmi and component. save yourself some money and go with component, as you probably already have the adapter that came with video card.
