Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
You could greatly decrease LOAD TIMES for BF2 by getting that thing, loading it up with about 2+ gigs of ram, and then installing BF2 onto it.
Or, have 4 gigs of memory slotted into your motherboard, and use some software to make a ramdrive out of 2 of those gigs and put BF2 there. Ohhh, if...
PC100 ram from an old computer will NOT work in your newer computer.
PC100 is SDR, or Single Data Rate, while PC2700 is DDR, double data rate.
The PC100 is old and slow, and even if the machine boots with it in there, the performance will be horrid versus what is possible with the PC2700...
Had the same thing with my DFI Lanparty... just needed to flash the bios to the latest version. Give it a try, should let your board detect the second core and run it properly.
DDR and DDR SDRAM are the same thing. It described the TYPE of RAM.
DDR = DDR SDRAM
PC3200 and DDR400 names both the TYPE and SPEED of the ram.
PC3200 = DDR400
If you ask them for 512mb PC3200 DDR you will get exactly what you're looking for. Just don't get thrown off if you see...
Yeah, any brand of PC3200 DDR SDRAM will work. Its also sometimes seen as DDR400, which is the same stuff.
Don't worry too much about matching the same brand, whatever BestBuy is stocking should be fine.
What heatsink would you guys recommend throwing on the DFI nf4 Ultra-D? Are there any issues with space with a bigger hsf like the zalman 7700's? How's the xp-90 fit?
SpamBayes is a great tool. I use it to handle three accounts, all of which are innudated with lots of junkmail and spam. Just make sure to double check it for about 2 weeks of use, just to make sure it didn't wrongly accuse something of being spam.
I used to run a pentium 133 as a webserver using FreeBSD and Apache. It then got upgraded to a 450 p3, same software, and then an 800mhz p3 w/ freebsd 5.2 and apache2. Apache rocks, *nix rocks, and they'll both run on just about anything that is even remotely like a computer.
