thanks for the bump. Anyone interested? I'm willing to adjust prices a little bit and pay for insurance.

I'm thinknig about building a dual opteron server using the opteron 1.6ghz and the tyan s2875.
There was some talk about the possibility of AMD changing the pin count on these cpus? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm planning to have this as my main machine for 3-4 years. What else...
The maximum temp rated by the cpu manufacturer directly correlates to the number of years they're willing to stand by their cpus. Running close to the max rated temp will most likely shorten the life of the CPU (this is likely but not always the case).
Take (12 volts - forward voltage of LED)/current
example: blue LED has 3.3v forward voltage (max), 20mA
resistor you need = (12 -3.3)/0.02 = 435 ohms, so pick like 450 ohms and you're good to go.
Hi
I'm looking into the possibility of building a dual opteron system. I've found a few boards but I'm not sure how good they are.
There was an article about the MSI K8T Master2-FAR saying that the DIMMs are connected to only 1 CPU and that if said CPU chokes, the whole system would choke...
I would go with the anodized case. Painted cases usually have bubbles on the surface no matter how well it's painted unless they used some super quality paint + clear coat like the ones used on cars.
What RPM are you running your saw at such that it cuts the lexan without melting it too much? I've tried using a dremel and it either doesn't cut it, or cuts and melts right through like butter.
I have an OEM R9800XT, I can barely hear it since there are 4 case fans in my computer. If you want to lower the noise, you can try using 92mm fans instead of 80mm fans. Larger fans tend to hum at a lower frequency so they appear to not be as loud whereas 80mm or smaller fans tend to have this...
