    XP to Windows 7 upgrades

Dang, sorry I failed you. :o And we're all that much luckier for it. ;) Thanks for the links. Like I said, the pricing I'm seeing is just about the same for upgrade and full OEM. I see no savings with upgrade disks unless I go to eBay and buy a Family Pack for $235-$240. Buying OEM...

    XP to Windows 7 upgrades

Thanks for the reply...So, it sounds like I'll need 5 upgrade disks? Why not just buy 5 Home Premium OEM version of Windows 7? Price would be about the same..... What's the benefit of the upgrade disk or rather, in what situation would the upgrade disk be more beneficial than an full OEM...

    XP to Windows 7 upgrades

I did a search and can't find the specific answers so please reply if you've got answers.... I have 5 computers I maintain for myself and family members. All use XP Pro. All are licensed copies of XP Pro OEM. Eventually, I want to transition everyone to Windows 7. So, what should I buy...

Audigy: Are both optical and coaxial SPDIF outputting at the same time?

Really? I have Gigabyte G33, G31 and ECS G31 and none have SPDIF out except for the pin headers... :)

Audigy: Are both optical and coaxial SPDIF outputting at the same time?

Cool, so I don't need it, right? I'm all coax so all I need are just the two wires - SPDIFO and Ground, right? I have Logitech Z5500 Digital 5.1 speakers, btw.... That would be nice... I'm a loyal Intel chipset user and the boards I've been using lately (Gigabyte, ECS) usually just have...

Audigy: Are both optical and coaxial SPDIF outputting at the same time?

I have a question of the SPDIF out headers on motherboards. Usually the pinout is "SPDIF out - Power - Ground". What is the power for? Is it needed? Can you just use SPDIF out and ground (two wires)? The spare RCA coax jacks I have are just two wire RCA jacks - not 3 wire (do they...

So, is this a power supply issue?

Well, as mentioned, I tried similar Corsair and Miushkin. No help - same problem. The Mushkin actually went bad on this board but it was old stuff. Since this particular RAM was no longer produced, Mushkin was able to RMA it for something newer but with less spec (old = DDR2 1000, new = DDR2...

So, is this a power supply issue?

I'm experiencing something like this, too. E8400 (3.0 --> 3.6) Gigabyte 8800GT (stock 700 OC'ed core) Ultra 600W PS (came stock with Ultra MicroFly MX6 case) Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R mATX RAM - currently Crucial Ballistix PC6400 (DDR2 800) though I've tried similar Corsair and Mushkin...

    The "Official" 8400 OC thread

Ah, OK. I'm using Speedfan (registered for the new beta). Speedfan's "CPU" reading is, I believe, 15ºC too cool. (Saw some discussion about this on another forum) However, the 2 "Core" readings are more like it. For example, Speedfan reads my CPU (right now) @ 25ºC however, the two Core...

    The "Official" 8400 OC thread

I think it's like this (someone correct me if I'm wrong and I'm sure you will ;)): VID is the Voltage Identifier of the CPU. It tells the voltage regulator (VR) how much volts to send to the CPU to boot up. Ever wonder how the BIOS knows how to send the correct default voltage on a new CPU...

    The "Official" 8400 OC thread

Use this sheet. The 1.3625v is just a "safe" number that the engineers came up with. You can more than likely go over this number and not experience any significant drawbacks. But the further you go over, the more the risk to the long term health of the CPU....

Can anyone take a look at my Speedfan labels?

Well, I don't know much about AMD CPU"s as I'm an Intel kinda guy.... Is that a dual core CPU? I have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor so mine shows 2 "Cores" in Speedfan. Yours is just showing 1 core and 9ºC at that, so it is, no doubt, incorrect. You will need to do a little gaming or...
