Well yes of course, it is dissipated thanks to our good friend physics, but my point was that air cooling constantly leaves a bit more heat in the processor than water cooling does (if done right). It's not much heat at all, but it's still more heat that gets dissipated into the room by water...
What I was saying is that if anything the room temperature would increase after switching from air to water. Consider the following:
1. Water cooling typically uses more power than air because of the pump, and this means more heat is being generated.
2. Your water cooling setup is able to...
This doesn't make any sense. If your water cooling system requires the same or more power than your air setup did, and if you're keeping things clocked at the same or higher frequencies, and if the water cooling system dissipates heat into the room better than the air, then the room temperature...
Well now you've got me curious. You're claiming that SATAII drives are absolutely necessary to achieve such performance, right? If so, it still doesn't make any sense to me, and the way I see it there are three possible explanations:
1. A SATAI drive cripples a SATAII interface limiting it to...
This is really condescending.
Also spotter was right, but I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding going on. He was saying that the drives themselves, which are what this thread is about, don't need to be SATAII for your arrays to be so fast. For that, only the controller needs to be...
I don't care what anybody says, SATAI is hot swappable. I've done it several times before with internal sata drives, and there are plenty of products claiming SATAI hot swapping features. The only thing that I can see lacking is OS support for powering down the device on command like Windows'...
Thanks, OP. I just ordered one for a new build I'm trying to get around to doing. Also this out-of-stock-rebate-honoring system is great! I wish more sites would do this.
Would you consider putting the radiator and fans in the bottom instead? I'm looking to do this with a PC-A16B soon. I'll either go with a thin 3x120 (no shroud, fans on top pulling in) which should only block the bottom two motherboard slots and one 5.25" bay or a thicker 2x120 that would...
I came across this one on NewEgg a few days ago in search of a new case for a new build. It looks absolutely amazing. It's almost as though Lian Li saw the Antec P180B and thought "hmm... I wonder what happens when we make a case like that" (or maybe it was the other way around). I've been a...
:D Glad I could help. I have one and love it but haven't gotten anything to put in it yet. I also have a P180b and when it arrives a Sonata II (thanks, OP), both with nothing to go in them. The P180b will be home to the computer I'll be building soon though.
You, sir, may be interested in the Solo. If you haven't checked it out before, it's basically a slight variant of the p150. Not only is it available in black (front bezel is silver though), but they also replaced the hard drive suspension bands with industrial grade elastic straps.
I bit. It looks like a great case and it's at a great price. Thanks, AndeeG!
Also, good luck on fitting the 8800gtx in there, yevaud. Be sure to make a case mod or worklog thread of it if you mod it :)
Bummer, I already preordered from EB for $40 :(
Also, if the demo is any clear indication, this game won't be so much fun. I enjoyed it, but it seems like they cut a lot of the nice interface changes they made in Most Wanted. The biggest thing is that the options were really limited and...
