Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My Samsung 244T is recently 3 years old and out of warranty now, and for that reason, I too have been researching panels. Not that I think it's going to simply die anytime soon, it's fun to at least see what's out there.
Out of your list, for me it'd be a toss up between the Dell and Sammy...
My Athlon X2 is 3 years old, so I7 was the logical choice. All components sitting ready except for the mobo, need to decide between Evga and Asus this week
If you're going to spend in the neighborhood of $60, I'd recommend these Grados. I've had a pair for 6 years, and will replace them with same model.

edit: Oops, the link doesn't go to the specific model, but was referring to the SR 60
Upscaling makes sd dvds look virtually as good as br content, at least I don't see a difference. The ps3's fans will run ocassionally, as the hardware upscales, whereas it's basically silent during br playback...but the fans are low db to begin with.
