Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just a thought but is that 8400GS a turbocache model? This would explain the extra RAM usage as it caches back to system RAM for the resolution on your third screen.

Chaps,
I posted in here ages ago and just wanted to say that the case is still magic and apart from one of the stock fans failing again it is still in great shape (despite a house move).
Your pics contiue to inspire me to upgrade and reshape my internals - shame I'm too lazy to do anything...
Thanks for the replies. Sorry I cannot provide too much more information as he lives miles away so I cannot see it with my own 2 eyes..
I know it is PCIe and I think the motherboard is an MSI K9n-Neo, he is running 2g Kingston ddr2-667 and an AMD 3800 Single core.
It does look to me like...
Hello,
My friend has had a x1950 512mb (he doesn't know if pro or xtx) for 8 months. He has binned the receipt and the box (doh!) and now it appears to be artifacting like this:
I have asked him to run ATI tool tonight to check. I'm afraid that is as far as my knowledge of the ATI brand...
Hey all,
I was just browsing through Fileplanet looking for a free game to download and I stumbled upon http://www.fileplanet.com/181891/180000/fileinfo/Red-alert:-A-Path-Beyond-Beta
C&C Red Alert: A path Beyond. It appears to be a Red Alert game based on the old C&C Renegade engine...
Unfortunatley the B3 revision does run hot, there are good chips and bad ones - It may well be that unfortunately you got a bad one.
My friend also had a bad one and we tried the methodlogy that you are following all had no success except for an unlapped TRUE 120 which did drop the temps by...
@MZL
Looking very nice there, you should be proud... it was worth the [H]ard work wasn't it!
Now you just need a decent CPU heatsink and start clocking that puppy!!!
Here is mine as it stands at the moment.
Future modifications include:
4 Sharkoon SE 2000 120mm fans
Zalman fan controller
Replacing front fan filter doors with some sort of mesh to increase air flow.
SATA DVD/RW
Maybe different heatsink/water?
Oh and a tidy :p
Very cool stuff indeed.
I will definately have to look into this further; to see if it wiould be feasible for me; thanks for the input!
[EDIT]
Ok I think I have found the sort of thing I am looking for...
For modding the case I could remove both HDD cages and put my to HDDs in caddies in the optical bay, or remove the top HDD cage and use part of the Optical bay... basically any combination that will let me keep 2 Optical drives and 2 HDDs.
If I could get away with leaving part/all of it on...
Thanks for the reply, I assume I would external mount these on the top of the case? Would I still be able to use my top 120mm fan?
Also anything that would fit internal, with a six year old who loves computers and how they work I want to keep this as fool proof as possible.
Hi all,
I have been well and truly bitten by the bug to constantly upgrade and I think now is the time for me to go for watercooling. I believe I have all that I need in the way of hardware (in sig) as I usually go for "bang for buck" rather than top of range; and don't feel the need to...
I believe that their used to be an issue with this board that the BIOS wouldn't allow Core2s to boot. Some people had to use an old 775 Celeron or something to get it to boot and then update the BIOS.
Pretty sure that this isn't the issue here but what is your BIOS revision, should say on...
I think the way it works (at least for the P182) is that as the PSU is isolated at the bottom, the heat from the CPU &H/S and Mobo and GPU don't constantly heat the PSU. So the air the PSU sucks in is colder.
This way you avoid hot air from all components making the PSU intake air hot before...
