XM Outages Continue For Second Day

Whew, I was getting nervous too, I thought my system was going. I would lose the signal very easily. Figured maybe a bird flew between my car and the satellite. :D

What to build, what to build....hmmmm

I thought about the 8600 but I was thinking it was like the difference between the 9600 XT and the 9800 PRO when I built the full size one. Almost all my prior systems used crappy video like GeForce 2 MX or some 3dfx banshee card. The ATi 9600 was a radical step for me, even though it was always...

What to build, what to build....hmmmm

My wife mentioned that when she turned on the machine the other day, XP did a CHKDISK and found two errors that it had to recover. Actually, my wife never verbally mentioned it, I found a couple of stickies on the desk with cryptic error messages that she wrote down but never told me about...

WTB Socket A IGP microATX board

Looking for a micro-ATX Socket A mobo that has onboard graphics. Trying to compile a cheap system for a co-worker that needs a new PC for her daughter and I am missing only the board. Would prefer an nForce2 IGP board, but will consider Via.

Just a small trip in the past:

I'll look around and see what I got....but I'll see if I can get one special for you. I remember fooling around with my brother's old computer from 1986, or 1988. I was surprised to see it was an AMD 286. It wasn't a socket, it looked almost like a wafer bios chip. I'll check with my brother...

Once upon a time, there was a little computer called X-Qpack...

Geesh and I feel guilty about spending $800 on my recent new system, the SFF in my signature. Only thing I reused was the Minuet case. I didn't tell my wife because she never uses the smaller system cause it used to run Linux (only system I could NOT get Windows to load onto). Only thing is...

The Unofficial List of Good mATX Motherboards (Overclocking and Not)

I just got this board on Friday from the Egg and put it my old Minuet case. Very nice fit in the case. Running it with an X2-3800 and 2x1GB Corsair 2-3-3-5 and SATAII WD 250GB. I am amazed how cool this chip runs at stock speed, 35C at idle. I never had a SFF run below 48C!! Gonna wait a bit...

The Unofficial List of Good mATX Motherboards (Overclocking and Not)

I did a search and found the link to Anadatech's forum listing on the MSI K8NGM2-FID. Does anyone here have experience with this board? I was thinking of replacing my Socket A in my Minuet with this board and a X2-3800.
