    Truck driver in need of GPS.

    The garmin i3 is awesome for the price definately check that out unless you want to load windows whenever you want to use your gps. For a laptop in that price range I'd buy a used thinkpad on ebay.

    Check out Crumpler's line of laptop backpacks. They have a padded removal sleeve that integrates inside the bag and are built ricidulously tough. Mine has stood up to several years of abuse all while protecting my laptops perfectly.
