Low level format software, Maxtor 160G, and 3Ware controller

I need a prog to do a LLF on a Maxtor 160G drive, preferably without removing the drive from the RAID controller. If necessary, I can pull the drive and connect directly to IDE port on the MB, but if I don't have to go thru that, all the better. Any suggestions, guys?

BIG boo boo during vmod on 9700 pro, is there a way to bypass?

That's a good idea, if he hasn't also ripped the solder pad from the board. If that's the case, unless you're REAL good with a schematic and a soldering iron, you're OOL.

    Memory temps too high?

System: 2 PIII 933's, 2G PC133 ram, 4 sticks. CPU temps in open-air are about 80 degrees F, but the chips on the sticks are averaging about 130 degrees F. Is this normal? Seems to me it wouldn't be, and I've had many problems with this setup crashing and locking. No room for ram coolers...

You might want to consider getting a Dremel Advantage. LOT more power than a regular Dremel, if you can swing the extra cash.

    FireWire cable question:

I have an internal FireWire card, 3 external ports, and one internal. All ports are physically identical. I also have a case that has a Firewire plug on the front, with a cable coming off of it that has what appears to be the standard 2x5 10 pin connector, with one corner pin blocked. Looks...

    Source for Molex drive connectors?

Just got my order in today from Mouser. The pins are correct, but the connector housings are not correct. Those part numbers correspond to a 4 pin housing that has the corners rounded, instead of having the bottom corners square, and the top corners 45'ed. These connectors can still work...

    Source for Molex drive connectors?

Thanks man! BTW, for future reference for anyone who might read this thread, www.mouser.com was the only place that I could find that stocked all 4 of the above parts.
