Oh man. I will try to remember the specs since I have moved out of my parents' home, where I left that desktop for my siblings (I moved here to the US), and I visit them every once in a while. I don't remember the last time I used it :) I went with the AMD/ATI route. I believe it was an Athlon...

I decided to pay $20 more (compared to the S12II) and get the SeaSonic X650 since it is on sale now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151088

Yes I realize that the ECO is a rebranding of the Seasonic, but I did read some comments on different forums that seemed to prefer the Seasonic (because of better capacitors or something to that extent). Yep, I would much prefer lower noise levels. Thank you for the input. I guess I will wait...

There is a shell shocker for the Antec NEO ECO 620W over at NewEgg (for 49.99 without a $20 rebate). Some people seem to prefer the Seasonic though. Any thoughts?

Gotcha. What about this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL121112&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL121112-_-EMC-121112-Latest-_-PowerSupplies-_-17171031-L018C Even with tax, it ends up coming up to $42.89 (and not counting the MIR).

Thanks for the replies and recommendations. I will get the non-K version i7, and the suggested MSI motherboard. What is a recommended PSU to go with? The main reason I have the Corsair listed is that it has high reviews on Newegg (and it comes with a $25 mail-in rebate). Furthermore, is the...

    1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc Programming and software development, moderate gaming (I would like to run HL2, TF2, L4D2, etc. at their highest settings at 1080p; I also have a couple of flight simulators: DCS, and Falcon 4 BMS), as well as...

Yeah, they do not have any form of validation at all.

    T430: buy now or wait?

I ended up pulling the trigger on the W530. It turned out that the discount is indeed for students and faculty members only (verified with an online rep). My spouse is a student and I was able to make use of the discount. :)

The reviews I have seen so far have been less than stellar. I am also concerned about application compatibility.

    T430: buy now or wait?

Isn't that for students and faculty only? Right now I am deciding between the T530 and the W530. They can both be configured to be close to each other. It seems that with the W530, you are stuck with the very large 170W power supply, though it seems to come with a better graphics card.

    T430: buy now or wait?

Click here; third column. It seems to only come with Windows 8. That made me reconsider.
