I ran Cinebench on all CPUs I could

I ran the test on an Intel Skylake i3-6100. This and the Haswell are my two only "modern" CPUs. 954 points is pretty good I find compared to an older i5-4570 with 4 cores (6100 has 2 cores).

Intel: low prices and sold out CPUs

Is this an early indication they want to come out with Comet Lake? Because I read there's some kind of delay because they're not satisfied with the power consumption of higher-end Comet Lake CPUs. Their i3-9100F and Pentium G5400 which I find would be very acceptable for Internet...

I ran Cinebench on all CPUs I could

Well, 1221 points for an Intel i5-4570 which I find pretty good for a CPU I bought in December 2014 (5 years old).

If you buy a cheap CD Key...

Well, for what it's worth, I read the reason some are sold cheap is because they're surplus keys from businesses who sell them to resellers.

    Video acceleration in browsers

I read they just recently started to experiment on Chromium to allow hardware acceleration in browsers. Do you find this takes away from the appeal of Linux (free, open source)?

If you buy a cheap CD Key...

No I might in a few days because I know I'll tell myself later why didn't I use Win7 until the last day. lol

If you buy a cheap CD Key...

Since I read some textbooks on the social sciences, I prefer to try to stay objective. That being said, this user had lots of positive feedback on eBay, even for the CD keys. In reality, I had a somewhat peculiar reason for this key. I wanted one to use in a 5 year old machine and install it...

If you buy a cheap CD Key...

Oh, I didn't even think of checking here. I hope some sold here are unused or at least retail. My understanding is OEM is tied to the hardware. The thing is, I didn't even try activating it yet. Then I noticed the person is no longer a registered user. At least I know I can try several...

If you buy a cheap CD Key...

I mean the seller was just deleted on eBay and the item removed. I find this a bit alarming. Anyway, if my copy of Windows won't work, what's my first step? (I know about asking for a refund but... this is weird as it's an OS.)

Intel Comet Lake build lol (planning ahead)

Even though the Comet Lake CPUs have not come out yet (nor the Ryzen 4000), I'd like to add this. There's a post here about interpreting benchmarks: https://hardforum.com/threads/am-i-looking-at-benchmarks-the-wrong-way.1991294/#post-1044449841 and one about desktop snappiness (even though...

Intel Comet Lake build lol (planning ahead)

I play the regular deathmatch, my favorite maps are Outpost23 and Decktest.

Intel Comet Lake build lol (planning ahead)

I might wait for Rocket Lake to come out to get the next generation 12 iGPU. Looking at the Comet Lake i3-10300, I find it pretty interesting: 3.7GHz instead of 3.2GHz for my i5-4570, 2667MHz RAM instead of 1600MHz, 8MB L3 cache instead of 6MB. But it still has UHD 630 compared to HD4600...

Am I looking at benchmarks the wrong way?

Why are people saying AMD is largely superior across the board when the i3-9100F is superior to the Ryzen 5 2600 and Ryzen 5 3400G? https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-9900ks/14.html

    Can you benchmark desktop "snappyness"?

Does Linux Mint slow down a bit as well?

    Can you benchmark desktop "snappyness"?

I read someone insisting Intel CPUs are snappier on the desktop. How would you even test this?
