Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Are you sure about that "TN" panel? Everything I've read for the past month or two says it's a Samsung PLS display, which means IPS in every way except the name. It's the GS70 that has a crappy panel, not the GS60 Ghost.
Yeah, that was the first place I looked a couple weeks ago. I'm interested in the GP1 though. I might see if someone local can order it for me.
I'm on this thread every day or so, keeping an eye out for any Toronto-based sightings.
(EDIT: yeah, I see now that you confirmed what I was worried about... it's not the 32GP1U.)
Anyway, I think you can get this TV either now or soon at Steve's TV in Kitchener. I haven't found a place in Toronto yet. Where abouts are you?
Found this link on their site when I was confirming the LaserJet compatibility:
HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet Products - Product Support Matrix for Microsoft Windows Vista
That'll let you know if your printer is supported or not.
I can't try it to confirm, but from what I've read you can still view do 1080p via component, but only until DHCP kicks in in a few years (if it does). Currently it's not being used, so for the time being you should be good to go.
The PS3 manual says you can't view copy-protected material at...
Considering that I want to use this with my PC, laptop, and PS3, does anyone think that it's worth waiting for a newer, HDMI 1.3 monitor or should I just grab this 1.2-based set?
This was intended as my spring purchase, but now with the 1.2/1.3 issue with the PS3 I'm reconsidering. By that...
I have a very deep corner desk that has about 4 feet of depth. I might be able to manage.
But having to deal with a big monitor is a problem I could live with. ;)
The lack of 1:1 mapping bothers me too. I think I'll be considering a Westinghouse 1080P 37" instead, for a similar price. Couple hundred more, but more useful for movies, PS3, and computer when I need it. But man... 37". huge for a desktop. :)
I thought 1:1 was mentioned in that pre-release demo link I posted earlier in this thread. Will have to check, though.
I was thinking about the 30", but I think I might prefer the higher pixel-density and lower-cost of the 24".
I think we can all agree, at the very least, that both of these powerhouses are going to continue to sell like hotcakes & ricecrackers, and maintain the top two positions in the industry. I for one can't wait to see Nintendo grab a larger share of the market, though I do suspect it will garner...
Primarily because they don't want to do the extra work. That's what various US-only e-tailers have said when I ask them. They don't like dealing with Canadian credit cards and "shipping headaches". Very lame, very lazy. Other companies seem to do just fine.
BTW, NCIX has the monitor for...
Hopefully with both machines being roughly even, given a particular developer's investment, we'll finally be at the point where "it's about the games." A couple of killer-ap exclusives are inevitable -- and rewarding to faithful players -- but having more games available to more platforms can...
Exactly, they're just extras. If someone wants those extras, the price is acceptable. If you don't want the extras, then there are other options. I think one option is a bit more foreward-thinking than the other, despite the late-addition of features that no one can honestly say weren't added...
Don't be such a rude arse. I've already clarified my statements above. The gaming division is obviously more concerned with what Blu-Ray can do for gaming, and Sony-in-general is obviously more concerned with just getting the #s out there to squash HD-DVD. Those are not mutually exclusive...
