I'm posting on my brand new MacBook 2.0Ghz White...
No heat random heat problems (Its hot right now because I just formatted and reinstalled OSX without language packs and a bunch of other stuff), build quality is fine and the LCD shows no defects. I'm enjoying this notebook a lot.

iTunes sucks balls on either of my machines... Windows mind you.
It either hogs up RAM or takes a few seconds to respond when switching to playlists or just is slow as shit.
I went back to Winamp... sorry Apple. I'm waiting for an iTunes skin for Winamp that completely emulates iTunes.

I paid for this machine by working in the summer last year. The laptop was a gift from my Dad (we split it 50/50) and I'm getting a new machine since my sister's need a new PC and I'm giving them mine and working with about $2000 (1/2 mine)

Portability is key... weight, heat and battery life.
Around campus in cafs, coffee shops, cubicles, couches and in class are where a notebook gets used. IMHO I would recommend an Asus machine. I spent a fair bit of coin on my V6V but I'm a stout believer in what I bought.
