    4870x2 reviews beating gtx280 sli

Hey, I can cherrypick too ;) http://techreport.com/articles.x/15105 3 out of 4 games, 4870x2 is slower than much cheaper 9800GX2 in Crysis http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3354&p=1 4870x2 is slower/equivalent to 9800GX2 in 2 out of 4 titles. Suddenly, not much a...

    55nm Production Status. (Rumors)

Are you suggesting that Nvidia is in trouble?

Why would ANYONE get a 260/280 over 4750/80/4780x2's?

It would either be: a. Company with $3.7 billion in long-term debt and 2 straight years of posting 600 Million+ quarterly losses b. Company with 1.5 billion in cash and years of profitability I'd say Nvidia, though you might disagree :p

One thing that makes GTX 260 better deal than 4870

Ah, since you are referring to [H] review, you probably noticed that 260 was faster in 2 out 3 games tested at maximum "playable" settings. So how does this makes 4870 better again? Especially considering they no longer have a price advantage. I happed to like HardOCP testing methology, it...

One thing that makes GTX 260 better deal than 4870

Question for you: What qualifies as a real review? a. The one that tests 3 - 5 games at the settings that dont even push the card to its limits? b. The one that tests 15 games, including tests at 2560 / 8xAA If you are playing more than COD4/GRID/Assasin Creed, which one would be...

One thing that makes GTX 260 better deal than 4870

So you admit that 260 is better at higher settings (and lower price to boot). Hmmm, so much for price/performance? And since you are unable to read, perhaps this average performance rating graph will help Tom/Anand did not test Gothic, Jericho, COH, Bioshock (with AA) and STALKER...

One thing that makes GTX 260 better deal than 4870

ATI marketing droids like YeuEmMaiMai and DeadSkull would like to convice you that extra memory wouldn't matter by linking to reviews that dont even test the settings needed to stress the card. Fortunately, one site did, and they included far more tests than AT and Toms. Just a few here...

Will ATI get back into the high end market again with a single GPU solution?

Wrong. CSAA is barely slower than normal mode, this could be verified by many different sources. And please, dont argue, this is a well known fact. 16x CSAA takes 16 coverage samples + 4 color/z, as a result, the performance hit is minimal. http://techreport.com/articles.x/14990/7

280GTX owners dont use 8xAA, they use 16XCSAA, which not only looks better than 8XAA, its also much faster. Unfortunately, reviews use this mode, not knowing its not optimal and was included as an option.
